      I think if you really want to get your hubby a gift he will like you have to think fof him and not you! Some women think of a nice mushy gitf they think is perfect but in reality it is cute and perfect and the guy will end up tossing it in the pile of other gitfts you have given him that he will not like. get him some baseball tickets or something sporty, or something that ha will like.
      if hes a gamer, get him a gift card to the game stop, if hes a sports guy, get him something sporty but not a hat(they are fitted an you need to know the stlye and hat size, they diff),get him something he will enjoy not something you think he will like! good luck!

      Dinner in the space needle is always lovely and something to experience. Right around there are fun museums and even an amusement park which could be fun and romantic. You two could pick up lunch at Pike’s Place Market (bread, cheese, wine, flowers even!!) and then go have lunch in a park on the water (I recommend Myrtle Edwards Park – that’s where my fiance proposed to me!). A ferry ride, all snuggled up together. They even have dinner cruises on the Puget sound which are amazing!!

      As for gifts…there really are endless possibilities. I think it is always nice to get someone something they love but may think too extravagant or unnecessary to get themselves (gifts should be frivolous!) What does she like to do and go from there! (Ex. Does she love to cook, do a joint cooking class – romantic and soooo sweet)

      Well, aside from the VERY obvious (a trip to Victoria’s Secret, dressed up and waiting for him…) He’d probably enjoy a golf outing (gift card, green fee pass etc) And, believe it or not, he’d probably enjoy it if you went with him and “caddied” or at least drove the cart and bragged on his play! What’s your budget? That’s very important.

      Well, I have never heard of a 1st year anniversary party before, which means… There are no rules, for it, so just go for it! =) Decorate however you want! You could relate it to your wedding or your first year together by displaying pics of your first year of being married, or you could go with a color theme- look up what different colors represent or what feelings they’re associated with, and go for it! I would say that the ingredients for any good party are good music, good food, plenty of drinks, and most importantly- the people you care about!

    What do you do for your 1st wedding anniversary?
    Friday is my 1st wedding anniversary (although we’ve been together for over 4 years). I have the day off work – but obligations starting early saturday, so going out of town is out of the question, but we have a friend staying at our place (so we’re not alone).       In my first marriage, on the one year anniversary, we had no money, and no where to go. So we ate the top tier of our frozen wedding cake, popped a bottle of cheap $ 3 wine (haha…I can laugh at this now…we’re divorced), and said our I love yous and listened to music, and I guess you can guess what else. Supposedly, paper is the 1 year anniversary gift. I’d say suprise him wearing a paper dress, then tear it off right in front of him and say, “Happy Anniversary, Honey!” but…if you have guests, you might not wanna do that. However, you COULD rent a hotel for the night, have dinner, then go back, and do that! :)

      Take the 30 minute ferry ride from Edmonds to Kingston, and then head for the Olympic Peninsula and spend a romantic day/night in Port Townsend, Sequim, or Port Angeles. There are wonderful restaurants on the water in all three towns and interesting things to keep you busy when you’re not having meals.

      I am a former chef and used to work in Kleinburg at the Mc Micheal Art Gallery, in town there is a nice place, just off the main street, called the “Doctor’s House” very romantic, I used to know the chef there years ago, if your downtown I recommend Grill Time on Yonge, a Korean BBQ place were they serve the food to you and you grill it on a table top grill for yourself, a huge selection and more food than 2 people could eat in one sitting, or the revolving places, like 360 at the CN Tower or the restaurant atop the Harbour Castle Westin, looking out on to the lake, or Captain John next door is quite and experience, a dinner on a boat, like a cruise ship with out the seasickness.

      you gotta be carefull going overseas for your first anniversary… thats what me and my ex did and it went horribly wrong…. turns out that letting the army plan a trip to iraq for the both of you is NOT as romantic as it sounds

      but as far as your deal is….. if you can… take her to the place that you either first kissed or where you proposed and get her something nice….. follow up with a replica of your first date…. unless it was a bad one

      Depending on what he is in to, you can go up to a cabin and do the whole roughing it in style. Try a bed and breakfast with a more masculine theme to it.

      There is one in California where the B&B is traditional but there is a gun club fairly close by. My hubby likes to shoot so that is a nice one.

      Vegas may be cliche, but there is so much to do theree that you could go on a hike early in the day, ounge by the pool in the afternoon and take in a nice dinner and show in the evening. And with shuttles you can get a little tipsy and not worry too much about it.

      Personally I was raised with the idea that anniversaries are private, intimate celebrations between the husband and wife. (With the exception of the big ones – 30, 50, 60, etc)

      It seems a little off to be sending out thank you cards a year later, but I guess better late than never. I’d go with something simple, but I’d mention the year gap also.

      paper is a first anniversay gift. I made a paer mache heart box ( you can buy them at hobby lobby) I decorated teh inside and outside of the box and wrote 365 reasons why I love him each on individual pieces of pretty paper and put them inside. He opens that box and reads them all the time. He loved it.

      If you really wanted to do something for your friends and family, then just have a small get-together and have a pot-luck dinner or a pot-luck breakfast/brunch at your house. That way they can celebrate your anniversary too. If that’s what you wanted to do.

      Personally, I believe the anniversary is between the two of you since you two were the ones who got married. I would do something sweet and do either a second honeymoon or something similar. Make it special to you two. =) You don’t have to involve everyone else, but if you want to, you can.

      I actually have a friend that, taking advantage of it being the “paper anniversary”, went to the courthouse and has his name changed to her last name (she kept her maiden name).

      so, during their romantic anniversary celebration, he handed her the paperwork from the courts.

      My husband and I go by the guide and then see how creative we can get about getting the gift. It’s kind of like a treasure hunt for us…maybe a little dorky to some but it works for us. I know that on our 5th anniversary it was wood so I got him these cool wood bass fish on hooks. I worried that it wasn’t going to go over well, but he is a fisherman and he loves them! Hung them from his rear view mirror and has had them there for over 7 years now. He says that every time he sees them he thinks of me…Sometimes it’s the little things.

      Here’s something creative that will be appreciated and you will have fun doing:

      Make up a crossword puzzle and have all the hints be personal inside moments and jokes that only you two would know about. Put it on a poster board and add some clipart and some pictures to it!

      The crossword puzzle could be time consuming and a bit frustrating … you could do the same idea with a WORDSEARCH or WORDFIND puzzle.

      Put your computer skills to work! Use Excel, get clipart from Yahoo Images Search, copy them, and reformat them, use a gluestick to put on posterboard.

      Use graph paper, and pictures from magazines if you are not as good on the computer, and it will give it a homemade feeling.
