  How plain are you planning on having your BM dresses? Because 5 plain ish custom made dresses could cost you about £100 each! Why not have a look around and see if you can find some ready made cheaper ones? How about Monsoon? They have a bridal section and their dresses are gorgeous!! If you are spending that amount, you might as well spend it there
  
  A highly beaded custom made dress will cost a LOT!! Possibly 4-500 pounds!! It all depends on where you are going to be honest, becuase everywhere will charge different amounts.

QUESTION:
How long should I budget for wedding dress shopping per shop?
I have an appointment on the Saturday after next at one boutique, but I would really like to also go to another shop the same day. Is this possible with the amount of time it takes to try on dresses? The appointment is at 2:30PM and I would like to try on approximately 5 dresses at the first shop. The reason I would REALLY like to try to fit in both on the same day is because my mom and a good friend of our family are coming from out of town to help me do this. They both have very hectic schedules and I don’t know if it would be practical for them to stay for two days and/or visit another weekend.

So, how long do you think I should budget time-wise per boutique/shop? Do you think I could fit in another appointment if I went in the morning or later in the evening? Btw, the other boutique is open from 10AM to 5PM.

  It does depend on how far the boutiques are from each other. Is it going to take you an hour to get there in rush hour traffic or just a quick walk down the street?
  
  You can probably fit both in and I would say it would be best to go to the other one right when it opens (or 11 ish at latest). Then you can take as long as you want (within reason) and not feel rushed. Then if it happens to take a long time, you have quite a large gap before your appointment (depending on travel time again). If your time happens to go short, then you can always go out for a lunch with your special ladies.

  For a castle, look at local National Trust or English Heritage places. Take a look on their websites, and see what’s near you. Then get in touch and see if you can use any of them. Bear in mind that if you want to get married indoors anywhere, the place needs to be licensed. I believe that outdoors is okay – just pray for good weather! If you can hire these sorts of places (I don’t have any experience), then remember that they might not close to other people, so you might get strangers walking through. Personally, if I were to walk in on a wedding, I’d be respectful, especially if there were plenty of polite signs telling me what’s going on. You might not be able to have a marquee on anything, but have to come up with somewhere else for the reception. I think that you can hire many National Trust properties for weddings and receptions, but they are more like stately homes than castles. English Heritage have more castles, but probably less freedom. If you don’t ask you don’t get (and you won’t know either!).
  
  As for a dress, if you can dream it up, you can make it. Find any picture, and contact a local dressmaker, and see what they can do. I think that the most important part is the hat (I’m imagining a long pointy cone with lace on the end) and I imagine that would be fairly easy to make too. On a tight budget, contact a dress-making college and see if they have any good students that you could commission. Or go and learn to make it yourself at a local evening class.
  
  It sounds like a fantastic idea. Use as much imagination as you can, and someone will be able to make it happen for you.

  i spent 0+ on my gown. it is more expensive then i really wanted, but just like the old saying goes. you get what you pay for.
  
  a davids bridal dress can run in the low hundreds, but the dresses are mass produced and they wrinkle really easily and frankly are not all that good looking and probably 50 brides have tried that dress on before you.
  
  Maggie Sottero makes very nice dresses that are good mid range. i got my first dress from her and it was around 0, the only problem i found is that it wrinkles really easy and the embroidery is really delicate. but her dresses are nice. (i have to sell it cause it’s from a wedding that never happened and i’m to big for it now XD
  
  my new dress for my coming up wedding i bought a Mori Lee which ran me over 0 but the dress is of a quality i have never seen. the dress that i tried on in the store is stored in the plastic bad and every time we pull the try on dress out there is not a single wrinkle on it. the dress is very sturdy and even though the skirt has two layers of organza on it and very intricate beading i don’t really fear i have to worry about tearing it or loosing the beads.
  
  so you may end up spending more but you won’t regret it in the end. i would find a dress you like and of good quality.

  This was my wedding dress and i didnt want to pay the hefty price tag either. I was recommended a dressmaking company in china that makes any dress for you from a picture. I sent all my measurements etc and paid £112. It arrived and was AWFUL. Really cheap looking and the material was cheap feeling too. In the end i bought an original off Ebay for £350 from a lady who had never worn it as she was pregnant and had to postpone her wedding.
  
  It is such a beautiful dress and in my opinion try and get the original rather than getting it copied. You only have one wedding day to feel like a princess. Have a look on Ebay to see if anyone is selling one.

  This is still way overpriced even though I also love Marc Jacobs and I suggest finding a knockoff or finding someone to make it for you at a more acceptable price.
