The Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA) represents the most selective and judicious talent around the world visually, creatively, and technically. Only qualified members are asked to join, and all hold industry-leading standards, expertise, and business veracity. One simply cannot pay his/her way into the WPJA. “The WPJA puts the worlds best wedding photography at your fingertips. We offer a new perspective on wedding photojournalism quietly capturing the real moments as they happen for the bride and groom. It is our goal to use photography to tell the story of your wedding day, not dictate it for you. The WPJA was founded in 2002 and is designed to celebrate the photographers who discover the moment. Alejo Pesce is just this photographer.
Alejo Pesce, of FlutterPhoto, was awarded the honor of placing 18th in WPJAs 2009 international Q1 Gallery Contest. These contests are judged by top working photojournalists and news photo editors actively in the photojournalism industry. The purpose of these contests is to celebrate the photographers who document and record the found moment. (Courtesy of WPJA.com). WPJA contest image submissions adhere to the most abrasive and critical judging, and only the top photographers and/or photographs are even considered for submission. Out of these thousands of submissions worldwide, only the elite are honored enough to actually place. Alejo had only joined the WPJA the previous quarter before placing in the 2009 Q1 contest, demonstrating his photojournalistic talent to its fullest potential.
Alejo Pesce is a Washington DC wedding photographer that has been a student of photography since elementary school, when he began to learn the technical aspects of the camera. He then relocated to DC and worked as a photographer's assistant, until starting work as a photo researcher, where he learned to recognize the value of commercial photography. His past experience has culminated into an 9-year career as a modern wedding photographer. “I believe that my skills are best utilized in this challenging field of photography. I have the disposition and energy to negotiate the challenges of photography the wedding day can present.”
