Wedding toasts are a great way to wish the new couple well, but it can be hard to get it just right if you’ve never done it before. If you feel a lot of emotion about the union, it may be even more difficult to get the toast just right. Keeping it simple really helps, as well as keeping it short. Remember that a toast is simply a way 00004000 to let the new couple know that you are excited for them, and that you were happy that they made you a part of their day. The more you try to put into a toast the more complicated it can be, so don’t try to pack too much into the toast.
Samples
Below is a very simple toast that you can use regardless of how well you know both of the bride and the groom. This is also a great way to make a toast when you really want to wish the couple well but you aren’t too sure what to say!
“First, I wanted to say congratulations to Bill and Nancy! I am so happy for the both of you and I know that today is the first day of what will be a very long marriage. I also want to thank the two of you for inviting me and making me a part of your big day. I know that there will be many more celebrations of your love and your marriage in the future!”
Below is a more intimate toast that you will find works well for close friends and family and will help you convey a bit more personal emotion.
“Congratulations, you two! I know that everyone is saying great things to you, but I had to get up and really express how happy I am for you. I know that both of you have been looking forward to this day for quite awhile, and I have to say that it couldn’t have been more beautiful. I know that you have a lot of great plans for the future and I can’t wait to sit back and watch them unfold for you. Congratulations, Bill and Nancy!”
As you can see, you can keep it really simple or you can add a bit more personalization to a toast. Usually a toast is just a few minutes long, so you don’t need to get into long stories or convoluted hopes for the new couple. Instead, keep things short and sweet but be sure to convey your happiness for the new couple. If you don’t know the personalities of both the bride and the groom well, keep humor limited and clean, just so that you are sure you don’t offend anyone.

A good website for free samples of wedding favours?
Maybe with a couple of pound postage at the most but preferably free.-

I don’t know of any free sites but some charge you for the sample but if you buy from them, they credit your purchase with the samples you purchased. We bought ours from WeddingPaperDivas.com. They were a sample, we got like 5 so when we ordered our invitations they credited us . Many sites do that, they send a color palate of the ink and you can feel the heft of the invites. Good luck!

QUESTION:
Free Wedding Photographer vs. Professional Wedding Photographer?
My fiance’s uncle did the photography for his brother’s wedding, and is offering to do ours for free. He’s got a great camera, and the pictures of his brothers weddings were decent. He’s not a photographer, but he does it as a hobby. We get all the pictures and can do whatever we want with them.I also found a photographer that I really like, and shes offering us all day coverage with all images on a disc for 00 (including taxes). She definitely has a more ‘artsy’ feel to her photography than my fiance’s uncle does, but her pictures seem a bit grainier than his uncles. I would probably feel a bit more confident with her than I would his uncle just because she has more expierence and I’ve seen samples of her work.
I am the textbook overthinker, and I’m not sure what to do. What’s your opinion?
-
ANSWER:
Do Both, if you have it in your budget to do so.Maybe, allow the professional to stay for the ceremony, and after Family pictures. That should cut down on costs, and that would leave the Reception for your fiance’s uncle. In my opinion, I would like my ceremony pictures to be artsy, with a mix of artsy and down to earth for Family pics, and Fun in the reception.
I plan on having the one use cameras on my reception tables, just to get a feel on what my guests thought of the reception, along with a lot of laughs.
You can also have your uncle take the same pictures as the professional, so as to have twice as many pictures, and you are doubly certain that you get what you want.
This way, you wont offend your fiance’s uncle, and you can still get artsy pictures.
If you choose this option, just make sure that you talk to the professional beforehand, so she doesn’t get offended about your uncle taking pictures also.Hope this Helps

QUESTION:
Where can I find free sample letters to tell everyone about my wedding plans?
K, so my fiancé and I are going to be married in April of next year. We plan to be married aboard a cruise ship. We want to invite everyone along for those who would like to go. Then when we come home we are gonna have a second wedding so that all our family and friends can attend. Both our families have asked what were doing and how and instead of explaining 100 more times We would like to send out a letter letting everyone know what our plans are. Not save the dates but an actual letter. I’m just wondering where can I find a sample of this.
Thank you for all your help.
The purpose of the letter is to inform everyone of the upcoming events. I don’t think that it is fraudulent to tell everyone that we are having a second wedding when we come home . As the word fraudulent means deceitful, deceptive, crooked, underhanded. Which we are doing none of those things. We simply want to tell people our plans. So regardless no one will be mislead, because the 2nd wedding will be so that they can all share in our celebration because a lot of them are upset that we are marrying so far away from home, and they will not be able to attend the cruise.
Also “Word of mouth” doesn’t really work when you have family all over the world. So that is why I am looking for a better way to get the word out as I have literally explained at least 100 times, as we have been engaged for a while. Thanks for your answer though.-
ANSWER:
I’m not sure there is such a form letter, but you might try to write your version of something like this:Dear Family & Friends,
We are excited to share our upcoming wedding plans with all of you and hope that you will be able to join us for all, or at least part of the wedding activities. We realize our plans are somewhat unique, so we’ve chosen to write a letter to all of you to explain the events.
We plan to be married aboard the cruise ship, the [Majesty of the Seas], during their [April 10, 2010] cruise to the [Caribbean]. We would love to have as many join us on the cruise that can. You will find contact information about the cruise at the end of this letter.
However we realize that everyone won’t be able to join us, and we value each of you and want to celebrate the beginning of our marriage with each of you. Therefore we will have a wedding ceremony after returning home so that everyone can be together. That ceremony will be on [April 24] at the [First Presbyterian Church in Montclair].
We hope you’ll mark your calendars for the Montclair ceremony. We will send invitations closer to the date. And if you want to join us on the cruise you are welcome to reserve your spaces directly with the cruise line or your travel agent.
Love you all,

QUESTION:
where can I find sample grooms’ wedding day speeches for free?-
ANSWER:
If you’re at a loss, then google. I did a two second search and was stunned at all the sites that came up. I won’t bother to list them, because they all seemed ridiculous. Just type in Groom Wedding Speech. But…You don’t need a template. (They all seemed really bad) If you’re not big on public speaking, it can honestly just be a 30 second, thanks for coming everyone, we appreciate it, don’t forget to take your wedding favor. You already had the marriage, you don’t need to make another elaborate declaration of love for your bride. You can do that in private with your new wife and speak from the heart and not freak out because of 200 relatives staring at you.
If you have to go to the internet to find a sample speech, no one is going to enjoy it. Especially not your bride. Just make a short thank you. The speeches are really for the best man and maid of honor anyway.

QUESTION:
How to market photography for cheap or for free? Get wedding photography clients.?
My name is Brian and I am a recent college graduate. I studied graphic design, photography and printmaking among many other things. I have been trying to get a wedding photography business started but it is slow going. Most of my past work was through referrals and this year was the first bridal show I have ever done. Unfortunately, it was the exact same week as a major auto show and I had overheard someone say that there was 1/10 of the people as there were the year before. YAY, a great time for me to spend a fortune for nothing.
But out of the individuals that were there I got good reactions on my photography and screen prints. Here is a sample of some of my wedding photography.I want to know if anyone has any ideas to help me market myself, get myself out there. And in a cheap or free way.
http://brianfreemanphotography.com/
there is a small sample of stuff, websites under construction
-
ANSWER:
Hi Brian,Starting a photography business is the toughest part, but once you start then you build from there.
I would build a blog, as was suggested above, and post your photography there with updated information about you and what you offer on a regular basis. Let people get to know you.
Joint venture with local businesses like the florists, bridal shops, jewelry stores, caterers, etc, where brides frequent and use the services for their wedding, engagements and bachelor and bachelorette parties, etc. Show your work in these places with your contact info.
Put your mailing piece in with these other businesses to their clients to get your name out and leverage their database of customers.
Join the Chamber of Commerce and other local organizations along with local charities and network with people there. More often then not, there are high powered memebrs in the here who can refer you to others who are looking for what you offer. Don’t try and sell them, just get to authentically know them and business will come your way.
There are a ton of other things you can do but these are just a few to get you started. Be a second shooter and apprentice with other photographers who are looking for help. Learn what they do but interview them and study with those who are successful.
Definitely target the social media sites as was mentioned before like Facebook, Linked-in, Twitter, etc. But you really want to start meeting people in your community who are movers and shakers so they get to know the real you and can confidently refer you.
Be careful about where you get your names for clients as they may be difficult to work with. There are steps to take to qualify your clients but that in itself is another conversation.
Check out the resources below.

QUESTION:
Can anyone tell me where l can find and download wedding photos to my computer for free?
l need to create a sample weeding movie so they can see what l can do using my 3d album software. Thank you.-
ANSWER:
If you just google pictures, make sure that whatever you use is public domain – it’s really not ok to just find wedding pictures on the internet and use them for your own use.I’d recommend buying inexpensive stock photos from dreamstime.com or istockphoto.com. You can also search through flickr.com and ask permission to use any of the photos from the photographer.

QUESTION:
I want to make a wedding scrap book?
I want to make a scrapbook sort of thing with lots of my dream wedding ideas. Any ideas of wedsites, what i can use, where i can pick up free fabric samples?-
ANSWER:
• The vast majority of fabric shops and haberdasheries will happily give you free samples, just ask.
• try also looking at wall paper, it might sound daft but there are some lovely colours and motifs out there to give you some ideas.
• Head to the charity shops and look for books on Gardening and home decoration, you might get some inspiration on flowers and table centres etc. You might even see some nice glass vases that could inspire a shape or form for your centre pieces.
• In terms of websites simply google Wedding Websites or Wedding Blogs, they’re full of inspiration and ideas
• Get a generic photo album off the high street and re-cover it in some nice fabric, ribbons, lace, you’ll have a personalised scrap book you can keep as a momento and it’s often a lot cheaper than buying a specific “wedding scrap book”
• A lot of high street department stores offer wedding services, check out their websites for idea’s on invitations etc. (if you print them out on a nice textured paper they’ll look really good in the scrap book)
• if you see flowers you like take photos of them or press them in an old heavy book to stick in the scrap book, they might even come in handy when you’re trying to explain to the florist what flowers you like.Hope some of this is helpful

QUESTION:
Any good ideas for organizing wedding information?
I am engaged and beginning to plan the wedding. So far I have only bought bride magazines and sent away for free catalogues and samples. I have started to receive this information…any good ideas on how to organize all of it? I was thinking maybe a notebook of some sort?-
ANSWER:
Get a binder.Have sections for each part of the wedding. For instance you might have centerpieces, florals, dress, rings, ceremony, reception, food. As many as you need. In the last section make sure you have a place to keep all of your signed contracts and copies of all your receipts so they don’t get mixed in with your brainstorming stuff.
In each section include two of three clear plastic sleeves where you can clip out pictures that catch your fancy or stick business cards. Behind the sleeves you should include several sheets of paper so you can jot down any thoughts, dates, etc.
Also, when you have your basic color ideas chosen go to the hardware store a pick up several sets of your wedding colors from the paint chips. Take one set and paste to your wedding binder. The other sets you need to hold on to. They will prove almost invaluble to you later to take shopping when you want to know if something will look good or to hand out to vendors when you want them to color match exactly.
On wedding day hand the notebook to whoever is acting as your coordinator and dealing with any problems so they have the proofs of payment and contracts as backup if something should happen (god forbid!)
You may or may not want to get a checklist kind of book from the bookstore. I’ve found that the freebie lists online work just as well. They have books that are supposed to help you organize it all but I’ve found them to be pretty unhelpful since they give you a very limited space to keep your clippings and whatnot.

Anyone know of any Wedding Freebies?
Im getting married in 2012 and im having a hard time finding free catalogs and samples online of wedding stuff(invitations, dress catalogs ect)
Does anyone know of any?-
ANSWER:
I’ve found some free wedding catalogues at a local chocolate and Cake shop in my hometown. It’s a local bridal mag, but it was free and we are having a local wedding, so it makes sense to me. You should check out local small-businesses that sell wedding stuff like dress boutiques or cake shops. Also if you research Bridal Expos, you can find some goodies at those. All my married girlfriends always rave about how awesome the Bridal Expos were and how I HAVE to go now that I’m engaged!!! They give the bride 4 free tickets, and each additional ticket is . They’re all over the place too. I’m going to the one closest to me in a nearby suburb.

QUESTION:
father of the groom wedding toasts free sites?
sample toasts for rehearsal dinners and for wedding-
ANSWER:
http://www.realsimple.com/realsimple/browse/skills/0,21771,4010000000-Issue_Date-desc-596-1-25,00.html
http://www.aphids.com/cgi-bin/quotes.pl?act=ShowWedCategories
http://www.wikihow.com/Make-a-Wedding-Toast
http://www.ehow.com/how_1383_propose-toast.html
1. Let the host or hostess make the first salute at a dinner party. If she or he does not do so, initiate a toast after the dishes from the main course are cleared.
2. Make certain that everyone, no matter what he or she is drinking, has a full glass to raise.
3. Stand up and tap your glass to get everyone’s attention.
4. For a formal occasion, have everyone (except for the person you are toasting) stand up. If it is less formal, guests may remain seated.
5. Direct your toast toward the host or hostess or the guest of honor. Speak loudly and slowly so that all can hear you.
6. Keep it brief, sincere and to the point; choose simple but substantial words to convey your feelings. Some of the best toasts are just a single sentence or two.
7. If you are feeling more creative, you can begin with an appropriate quotation, a poem or an amusing anecdote.
8. Consider mentioning an unusually brave, heroic, romantic or awesome act performed by the honoree.
9. Weave humor into your toast, but don’t embarrass the honoree. If the assembled group is close-knit, it’s all right to refer to shared experiences, but don’t make the toast a private joke between you and a few of the people present.
10. When you have finished your toast, lift your glass to the recipient and lead the group in drinking to that person.
Tips:
If you know ahead of time that you will be giving a toast, write down some thoughts on note cards and practice delivering the toast before the big event. Remember that the toast puts the spotlight on the honoree, not on you.If you are the recipient of a toast, remain seated and refrain from drinking when everyone drinks to you.
Warnings:
Make sure your toast is appropriate for everyone at the event. For example, a best man’s speech at a wedding ceremony shouldn’t refer to bachelor-party escapades.Tips from eHow Users:
Make eye contact when toasting by eHow Friend
Be sure to maintain eye contact during the touching glasses portion of the toast. You need to only glance at your glass from your peripheral vision, and move your glass along without too much force if you’re worried about breaking something. Constant eye contact shows you really mean it.http://www.heavenstouchweddings.com/how-to-toast.html
Hope some of the help out.. there are many great places on the net that offer onfo for FREE!!!

QUESTION:
Chose my wedding colors, does it work for the season?
Last night I went to the hardware store and chose my wedding colors in the paint section (great way to chose colors and compare them next to each other, plus the sample cards are FREE!). Our wedding is going to be next year late August/early September:Colors: Soft eggplant, deep royal purple, sage green, and light green,
Neutrals: Ivory, champange, and mocha. It’s more of a palate of colors. I didn’t want to pick just two or three, because sometimes I think that looks to monotonous.
This way I get a nice balance of purple (my fiance’s favorite color) and green (my favorite color). My wedding theme is simple-vintage-romance.So do you think those colors are okay for a late summer/early fall wedding?
Thanks!!
-
ANSWER:
I think that those will look beautiful! It’s great that you are sticking to the shades of colors rather than just 2 or 3…I think it will make it look lovely.
I found a few pictures…looks beautiful together! And great for anytime of year…http://www.stylemepretty.com/images/2007/12/10/purple_inspired_wedding.jpg

QUESTION:
Is anyone else completely obsessed with wedding planning?
I don’t know what it is but every free moment I have I am planning and I am not getting married until October! I already have my dress and ordered a sample of my brides maids dress. Booked caterer, met with florist and selected the cake. Made centerpieces, ordered favors and invitations…..I am fully obsessed. The crazy part…so is my fiance! Are you this way too?-
ANSWER:
Oh yes i was that way completly. it is a really good thing to get everything booked ahead of time, so you know how much money you will need and so your vendors dont get booked up. It might have been a good idea to wait until about 5months before you wedding to get your dress. They say you usually gain weight or loose weight around the time of your wedding. With my wedding i got my dress really early then when i went back for a 2nd fitting it was huge on me, so i had to order another one and it came back 2wks before my wedding then it had to go for alterations and i didnt get my dress until 3days before my weddding. now thats scary. But yes its natuarl to get all obsessed with your wedding, bu its great your fiance is helping. thing to know about your wedding is, is that you can get every piece of the planning done but 3wks before your wedding it will be extremly hectic because there will be plenty of things you forgot or alot of things you cant do until closer to time. I quit my job to plan my wedding, so if you cant do that u would really recommend taking off atleast the last 2wks before your wedding. you will be way to stressed out and focused on your wedding for anything else.
