     I wouldn’t mix the jewelry colors in this instance. With sparkle on the dress, I would try to match the dress to the jewelry. I think maybe no necklace because you have the crystals on the dress so close to your face. You could wear crystal or white pearl stud earrings though. Save the gold jewelry for your honeymoon…oh and by the way, congratulations!

   Do wedding dresses come in a silver color, rather than white?
   This question is probably a little weird but I have been trying to help my friend plan her wedding for awhile now and this is part of her dream dress…I know dresses can come in ivory, pearl, and I’ve even seen a pinkish/rose but what about a white blueish/silver color? Also have you seen one with silver embrodery or some kind of silver sparkles..she wants something very unique and silver is her theme for now. (gun-metal/grayish is probably gonna be the bridesmaids dress color) She is also very petite, like under five feet and very thin…do you think shes better off getting her dress custom made?      She has dresses that come in a variety of colors. Some are bluish/ silverish. There is also diamond white which isn’t quite white but it isn’t ivory either. They also sell dresses in petite for shorter people so there aren’t as much alterations. (just note even if the picture is in white it may come in a silver color- you have to check what varieties it comes in)

      Hi. I read your answer to another question so I know that this is a renewal of vows since her husband was military.

      To be honest, I think it will be PERFECT because of the renewal of vows and also given the time of year. I live in very northern Michigan so I, too, live where it can snow in November (usually does) and because of that, I think the silver would really compliment “the season.”

      If that is her “dream dress” then she should get it. Who cares about the silver. It will be different, but nice anyway.

      check thrift shops, for example your local salvation army or savers. They carry very high quality used clothes cheap. For example that dress ur looking for at max might be 15 bucks, but itll be very beautiful and lovely and ull be the center of attention ( besides the bride and groom) even if something there u like is no ur size try it on anyway u neva kno it might be 2 big or small but u might be able to let it in or vise versa. U just need 2 have the willinesss 2 have fun, because its a very fun experience and ull probbally end up walking out with a bunch of funky accsessories and clothes besides the dress. I have a very vintage funky style and i go 2 savers all the time. I got a really vintage looking locket andt echno belt tht ive gotten tons of compliments on plus i got a new bathingsuit and all my freinds wanted 2 know where i got it cause they wanted 1, know all of them go there u should 2

      Sure… just make them strappy sandal heels. Regular full coverage shoes in any metallic color is a bit much and gets tacky fast.

      I know quite a few answers say yellow, but I think I would avoid yellow altogether, try to stay in the cool color palette, since your colors are cool. I think an all white bouquet will get washed out against the silver, and I think red would be bold but too bold for the color scheme.

    Can I wear gold jewelry with my white wedding dress that has silver threading on it?

      As someone already said, you can wear what you want, and everyone will tell you how beautiful you look, BUT, when you get those wedding pictures back, you see the truth:) (personal experience) The pictures say it all, and you don’t want to look at your pictures with the thought “I shouldn’t have worn that”.

      Honestly, I think your dress is beautiful, but I can not see gold jewelry complimenting the dress. The dress has silver thread and pearl accents, so I think you jewelry should be silver or pearls.

      If you really don’t care for silver or pearls, another option is clear swarovski crystals. They go with anything and they are beautiful!

      Oh, and one more thing. If you decide to go with gold anyway, if you are wearing a tiara, make sure it’s gold. Don’t wear a silver tiara with gold jewelry:)

      As a wedding planner I am trying to envision your wedding colors. My opinion is that you have your groom wear a ivory tux and maybe the vest could be ivory with a touch of silver in it if the tux shop has it. He can wear the traditional black tux, ivory shirt with a black vest with silver in it then. Have the men wear black tux with black-silver vest and blue tie (not bow tie) and the ladies wear their blue dresses. Be care how your wedding is also decorated because colors can throw your bridal attire colors into chaos. Try to stick to the color scheme as close as you can.

      personally no. the reason i say that is that’s the bride’s day to shine and for no one else to interfere. how would you feel if someone wore white to your wedding. you’d feel pretty annoyed with that, i know i will. outdoor wedding attire doesnt mean you need to sabatoge the bride’s day! wear light colors like a light blue or purple, pink, coral. just don’t wear white! it’s the same theory with prom as well, don’t wear white to prom!

      Any color, really. Pink, green, orange, yellow, white/cream, peach, red, purple – with such a neutral palette, you can go wild with bright flowers or keep it understated with simple white lilies or cream roses.

    Ideas required for a Sapphire blue and silver Summer wedding?
    I am getting married in July and want to have Blue Sapphire bridesmaid dresses with a silver ribbon around but fear this might be too dark for a summer wedding. Does anyone have any ideas on how to lighten up my wedding. Any ideas on what colour of flowers (not yellow) that would go with this colour combo.

    I also like the colour of amethyst/deep purple. Would Sapphire blue, amethyst and silver go. Colours are really not my forte.

      I had royal blue and silver as my colours (also a summer wedding) and I found that it was easier to use white flowers and greenery than to try and do something blue or silver. The ribbons etc were blue and silver but with the flowers and the greenery it didn’t make it too dark. I did use some blueish flowers (cornflowers) which broke up the white quite nicely.

      You could use a dark purple, it wouldn’t clash with the blue but I would suggest that you keep the use of the purple to a minimum; so as more of an accent colour. Too many dark colours and they start blending with each other. You could also use purple flowers but instead of staying with dark colours give it some variety and use various shades, just to make everything interesting.

    Can I wear gold jewelry with my white wedding dress which has silver threading on it?
    My white wedding dress has a bit of silver threading on it which is not too prominent, but it’s definitely silver. I was so in love with the dress that I didn’t consider how this would look with my gold jewlery. I’m more of a gold than a silver person. Can I wear gold jewelry with a white wedding dress with some silver threading?
    One thing I keep thinking about is that I want to invest my money into jewelry I’ll actually wear in the future. I would much rather invest in gold than in silver that I would never/rarely wear again.

    Everyone in my family is olive skin-toned, so we all look better in gold. So my mom and aunts and cousins wouldn’t really have nice silver jewelry to lend me.

    What color stockings should my braidsmaids wear with black satin dresses?
    My colors are black white and silver. Formal wedding. Dresses are different styles. Some long and some tea length. Wedding in July.

      Formal wedding: I would have them wear stockings.

      Black satin dress: I would say either skin tone or sheer black stockings, preferably black.

      What colour are their shoes?
      This may help decide the colour of stockings… if shoes are in white or silver, then sheer skin tone. If black, then sheer black.

      Stockings are not hot to wear in summer. I wore stockings and a long dress to my sister’s wedding in Feburary in Perth Western Australia.
      The temperature reached 40 degrees C that day! (104 F). My sister was expecting 45C (113 F).
      My sister also wore stockings under her heavy satin gown. She told me a slight swaying of the skirt was enough to keep cool until the cooling “Freemantle Doctor” sea breeze came in as we left the church for the reception.

    Well I made the mistake of showing the bride the dress I bought. At first she was telling it its “too fancy” and then finally told me the truth of how she was really feeling and said “you shouldn’t wear silver to a wedding.” I have never heard you can’t wear silver to a wedding.       I’d return it if you could. Whatever normal conventions are, if this bride’s going to be uncomfortable with you wearing silver, it’s your relationship with her that will suffer. You showed her the dress, and can’t change that, she will most likely be upset if you decide to wear the dress anyways.

      Aside from the color, I agree it is also much more of an evening cocktail dress than appropriate for a brunch (it’s too short).

      The yellow dress that Lydia suggested is lovely, or something similar.

      I think a pale pink flower or peachy color flower
      also there are ivory roses that are really pretty.

    gold, blue and silver wedding colors/inspiration board?
    Hello! This is to all brides and anyone who knows about weddings. I’m planning a military wedding, my fiance’ is in the army and so he’ll be wearing his class a’s white are black, blue with a gold stripe, and my wedding dress has a lot of antique silver details so i’m trying to plan the colors around blue with gold and silver touches, does anyone have any good inspiration boards that have all of these colors incorporated together or any ideas as to ceremony decorations, reception decorations, centerpieces, bridesmaid dresses, etc. Thank you!
    P.S. I’m not doing the same exact blue and i chose blue because i like the color not because i’m trying to match his uniform, i’m going more for a dark turquiose blue with tints of green, the wedding will be outside and i’m going for a garden feel, i just like the little touches of gold and silver as an option but it’s def. not going to be matchy matchy.

      I feel that going all silver on the accessories is overdoing it. Since it’s fall, it would look nice to have like a deep orange or maroon pashmena, then the silver shoes and purse would be fine.

      Love those colors together. It maybe difficult to find dresses that has both of those colors. I suggest that the bridesmaids wear wine or silver gowns and add a ribbon type belt(also known as a sash) the opposite color of the gown (example; wine gown and silver ribbon).       If it’s recognizably silver then I say go for it. If you let one or two people look at it and they say “honey that’s white” go find something else. Have a good time at the wedding.

    Turquoise, purple and white OR Purple silver and gray for an outdoor wedding?
    I already have a wedding dress that is an ivory color but I’m willing to buy a new dress to have it match my theme. I would like to have vibrant rich colors but I think turquoise is too much with the purple? Would the rich purple, light gray and silver lining match with my ivory dress? or should I get an off white dress? I have not seen wedding pictures with these colors. The wedding will be in Portland OR in August PLEASE HELP!

      Well personally I don’t see an issue with either color combo. The purple, torquoise & white with the ivory dress I think sounds more like a beach themed wedding. Depending on your dress you could probably pull it off.

      But in my opinion I’d go for the purple, grey & silver. I think it would look so much more elegant with your ivory dress. Not sure what you had in mind besides Portland, OR and August.. but this is how I see it (sorry I don’t have any pics or links I’m on my phone and am not sure how to do it. Lol.) But how I’d imagine it is.. mid-day/early evening like 4 or 5 o’clockish.. either in a garden/courtyard setting of a private estae or historic building. The Groom in a grey suit, purple shirt, ivory vest & tie. Groomsmen in a grey suit, ivory shirts and purple vest & tie. Or do black suits instead but use the same ivory and purple vests/ties and shirts and mix match em. OR Groom in all black suit (shirt too) with ivory vest and tie) and the Groomsmen in all black suits and shirts with a silver or purple vest and tie. And then for the Bridesmaids purple satin dresses, knee-length with silver shoes. I’m actually thinking maybe skip the grey and just go for purple, silver and ivory.. because together they look amazing with black. Grey I think is a bit tougher to fit into the mix. You could even alternate colors.. 1st BM wear a purple dress and silver shoes and have them hold an ivory rose bouquet with purple ribbons.. and the guy they walk down the aisle with wear all black with a purple tie. 2nd BM and GM.. girl wears a silver dress with purple shoes and has a purple rose bouquet with silver ribbons.. and the guy in an all black suit with a silver tie. Kinda mix things up a bit. And then your bouquet could be a mix of ivory/purple roses, white callas, purple lilies, baby’s breathe.. with purple, silver and ivory ribbons. Wear ivory or purple shoes for the ceremony.. and then depending on what you choose.. then switch it up to silver or purple shoes for the reception.

      Whatever you decide.. as long as you feel “alive” in the wedding dress you already got: WEAR IT! Make your theme revolve around that dress.. not the other way around. I’ve heard that once you pick out your dress it decides the theme you’ll end up having. So if you felt like “This is it.. this is the one” and “This is what I want to wear when he calls me ‘Mrs.’ for the first time” then that IS the dress.
