I don’t think I’m using one either…I considered it briefly, but I have seen them blow away at outdoor weddings if it gets windy, and since I’m getting married by a lake, there’s probably a good chance for wind.       I don’t have any pictures but you could wrap garland around each column, intertwine small flowers into the garland, then drape soft sheer fabric in swags across the top. The swags can be held in place by small flower falls. It won’t look like the example you are showing.

      See if you can rent potted palm trees or something for the background, or some sort of plant on a trellis. Some florists might already have something. It should be some sort of flowers or plants, at different heights, the taller in the middle. Or have a table, covered in a tablecloth with potted palms and ferns on it, with battery operated candles. It wouldn’t cost much either to make your own trellis, like three of 4×8 make into like a room divider with hinges and cover them with ivy and flowers. Just stake it down good.       get the arch and depending on the colour either paint it white with say some silver glitter on it or wrap some white crepe paper or material around it.

      depending on the colour theme you are having maybe just some live or silk flowers on the top and perhaps a big bow on either white or possibly the colour of your bridesmaids on either side. you could also twine some ivy or similar creeping plant around or through it.

      if you use live flowers perhaps ones that are the same as your/bridesmaids bouquets.

      go to home depot to the electrical department. Buy enough #4 awg bare ground wire to make this size heart you want, shape it. Decide where it is going to be used, figure out a way to support it at that location and decorate with balloons. hint, you could tie twine to four places top and bottom of heart and attache it to opposite walls, and cover twine with ribbon.

    • ANSWER:
      A lattice square either suspended from the ceiling (indoors) or supported by four poles. Hang flowers from the lattice work. Cover the top with sheer fabric if it’s visible. You may choose to let the fabric hang down the back as well to create a fabric “wall” behind you and keep the eye from wandering. Choose sturdy blossoms that can withstand heat and handling. (similar to a Jewish chuppah– most florists are used to this demand) OR
      Two pillars on either side of the area to mark the altar. You may place arrangements on top in a garden setting, with ivy cascading down the pillars. OR
      For a modern flair, lucite (clear plastic) pillars on either side of the altar filled with something interesting to the eye. I’ll go this route for my modern loft wedding by suspending strings of orchids inside the containers. OR
      If you don’t like flowers, consider pillars with various candles on them for an evening wedding or pillars with can lights (sort of mini-spotlights) on the ground pointing straight up. You can color them with gels (thin colored plastic that resists heat) for a theatrical effect.
      Really anything tall will work. Try to seek out a part of the room or outdoor space with a definite “wall” or background to enclose you. Otherwise you should create a backdrop of some kind to keep people’s attention on you. Then designate the area with two tall “somethings” ;) on either side of you. Don’t forget that the wedding party on either side of you and the aisle will help focus attention. Let you imagination go nuts! Have fun!

They need to know the best of the best so they can get the references from brides they have worked for. You will probably need to pay a fee for the recommendation, but you might like to use the planner to take the strain off yourself.

      Most people who played Sims 2 remember the wedding arch and miss it, so they just get a general arch (in the build section during game play) and decorate it. I suppose you could try looking in the exchange or the store, but making one is the easiest way in my opinion!

      Trying the inventory method won’t work. Fortunately, there are a couple workarounds.

      The easiest method without having to download anything extra is to finish the church, change the lotzoning to residential, place the arch, then change it back to community.

      1. type in the cheat “changeLotZoning residential”
      2. save and exit lot for change to take place.
      3. re-enter lot.
      4. place arch
      5. type in the cheat “changeLotZoning community”
      6. save and exit the lot
      7. visit with the engaged sims and have a wedding. :)

      Location: Ohh, it’s up to you! If you want to have a private wedding, I really suggest to do that at the beach. It’s so romantic! But if you want to plan a wedding party… well, do that in your house or download a church or a wedding park..To set up a wedding party, first click at your phone in the inventory, click ‘throw a party at…’ then choose the location.

      Wedding dress: Again, it’s up to you. If you don’t want to use any custom content, then just change the color of a dress in the game to white. How to dress up? Simple.       Click on one of the Sims -> Propose -> Marriage

      I just remembered that if both Sims are Young Adults, they won’t be able to marry until they either drop out of college or graduate.

      I am assuming you intend to use FRESH flowers not silk flowers. Decorating an arch or trellis is just like everything else in the world, you can do nothing at all OR just a few things OR go crazy. If you are going to have a professional decorator or florist do this then you can expect a price range of 0 (minimum) to 0. Yes, you can proably do it your self BUT you better know what you are doing or have some experienced help near by because there is a big difference between “the professional look” and “the homemade look.”

Since I’ve installed Open for business, the game no longer provides a wedding dress or a tux.       In Open For Business for who knows what reason they took out the automatic wedding dress and tuxedo. So to have nice attire you should probably try to find the nicest outfits for your sims when making them in Create A Sim (CAS) or if you want it to look like real wedding attire you could download some custom content at places like modthesims2.com. By the way if you like the wedding dress that they used to have there is a cheat it like bool prop…….. but i can’t really remember but if you go to cheatcc.com and look at the sims 2 cheats there is a cheat like i said its like boolprop……. so good luck!       My cousin used an arch like this and it looked wonderful with her idea. Take oblong pots (for plants) and take bricks or heavy rocks. Put the arch inside it and secure it with the bricks. Cover your handy work with flowers, moss, or fabric. With some time and a little elbow grease it’ll look great.

    Hi, I got a white pre-lit arch that’s metal from Michael’s… and the bases are small and circular, poles… if you know what the typical wedding arches look like, you know what I meas.

    Anyways I bought it to have above us, as we are getting married…but we will be in a church, on a floor that’s carpet or hard wood… will it balance okay? Or how do I make sure it does?

    • ANSWER:
      For our daughter’s wedding, my husband made wooden bases for each side of the archway. They’re probably about 6×12″. He just slid the poles into holes drilled into them. They held the archway securely. He painted them white and they decorated them with the same type of flowers they had on the archway. It looked really pretty and she didn’t have to worry about it falling over.

    How do you attach tulle to an arch for outdoor wedding?
    I see all of these beautiful pictures of arches with tulle or fabric draped across the top and down the side. How does this actually attach? We live in Oklahoma “where the wind comes sweeping down the plain” and if I just drape it over and leave it loose, it will wind up in the next county.

      You can rent them, we found a really nice one at our local grocery store. Its a very large chain of stores, called Zehrs. They even do flowers. They have an in house florist.       It comes with a net of white lights, which you can use, or not, your choice. It does not come with the tulle, or flowers. You decide how you want to decorate it. There are plenty of arches shown online. Just Google it, use the image search in Google.

      We bought white floral garlands to put down each side, and some floral sprays and vines for the top, and greenery – grape leaves and ivy. All this is silk of course, so we can decorate it a few days ahead of time and leave it set up for a Saturday wedding.

      There is no reason why you couldn’t do the same thing for an outdoor wedding, just make sure that the power cord for the lights is secured and covered so no one trips on it (if you use the lights. You don’t have to, but it does look pretty in the evening).

      I read online that you should buy white and dark green cheneille stems (pipe cleaners) to fasten the silk flowers and tulle to the arch. It doesn’t show much and if it does, the cheneille blends in.

      We’re also going to get some large urns and do some silk flower arrangements like the ones offered for rent at Zehrs here. They’re very pretty, but this way we don’t have to worry about picking them up before the wedding and returning them on time. I will also have the silk flowers, urns and arch to use for other family events.

      If I can’t find urns that I like, I’ll use large baskets, one for each side of the arch.

      The arch at Michaels has a small stake for each leg that you drive into the ground to hold it in place. We’re getting a welder to make a base for indoor use. (my daughter, the bride, actually).

      Michaels has some absolutely gorgeous silk wedding flowers. The long stem roses are very lifelike, but they are pricey. Wait until they go on sale, or use one of their coupons. We also bought some far less expensive wedding roses at Walmart which are very pretty too, for decorating the reception area. We found some more at a local Dollar Store too. If you look around, you can find some real bargains in wedding decor.

    I am planning my wedding, it is outside and I was really wondering if an arch would even be necessary, or if it would look stupid to have an outside wedding without one, and if so how much does it usually run to rent one?

      I bought a 7ft peaked arch from Hobby Lobby for 20.00
      Its a nice one its just not decorated but you can buy tulle and flowers from any store and decorate it yourself…beats paying the high prices.

      theres no wedding cakes, no arches, just balloons and a buffet you can have, when you want to get married you click on the phone and click on throw party, and then click on wedding party and click on people you want to have at your wedding.you cant have it a community lot so the wedding is at your house,theres wedding dresses in the formal section of when you plan an outfit, and then when your wedding party starts you click on your fiancee and click on romance and then click get married, then all the people will gather around, some sims may even cry, some others will throw flower petals

    Sims 2 PC – What do I use the Wedding Arch or Wedding Cake for?

      Okay, buying it doesn’t cause stuff to happen automatically.

      You need two sims that are engaged to each other to be on the same lot. They need to have their relationship at maximum or one might JILT the other and stop off. Lots of boo-hoos can happen.

      If you have above requirements, then get the wedding arch and cake and a bottle of champagne (on a table). Then prepare the area where the wedding will be. Good idea to have the banquet table there. You might also want to get a bar and hire a bartender. You may want to get a lot of chairs to line up in a row near the wedding arch so guests can sit down. If you still have money to blow, get other party things for the party. Take care of all potty needs and be sure to have plenty of energy and good moods.

      Then start inviting extra people over if you want huge wedding, and then also choose the mode to have a Wedding party. This way you are not limited to just a few people on the party menu.

      When they have all come, then be sure all no troublemakers are there to ruin the mood. Do what you have to do. Then have the bride and groom click on the wedding arch and the wedding will begin. All the guests will go and sit in the chairs. There will be fun animations. After it is done, you can do toasts with the champagne and also slide the cake.

      You’ll have to check, just call the base and ask. But I’m pretty sure he has to be a Sgt or above to have it. Normally the color gaurd or some other brand can do it for you wherever you get married if you’re not getting married by the base he’s stationed at. But you’d honestly have to call and ask. The chaplin would know.
