   Literally casual clothes – the bride is probably going to wear jeans; the groom’s planning on attending in shorts (UK shorts, not US which I believe is underwear).

I am Hispanic and my mother would dress me up all fancy looking and very presentable because in our tradition when we attend any special events it seems right to have their children look as presentable as the elders and parents, the females of the family would have to look as formal as the mother while the males would have to look well as their fathers, it’s passed down by generations, then again many Hispanic families are different.

      The maid of honor has to go to the Village Shoppe and buy the clothes and rings. (You may need to have 2-3 times before all the items are available).

      You selected the maid of honor when you choose the quest. You can’t ask a best friend; you must ask the hero you selected (probably identified on the map).

      In the US the wedding party generally pays for their own clothing. If you do that, try to be courteous and choose things (especially dresses for the Bridesmaids) that can be worn again.

      There are several things you can try. First, check at Wal-Mart or other discount retailer you never know what may be available. Check the second-hand stores and flea markets. They always have these types of clothes. Check with other couples you know and see if they can give you information. We still have the “little” tux that our 3 year old wore in our oldest son’s wedding as the ring bearer. He will never wear it again (he is 8 now) but it was simply too precious to part with! And last but not least…check Ebay or other places on the net. You never know what you will find. Good Luck!

      i personally would change, you can splash out on a outfit for the evening, i got married last year and i wore my dress for the wedding and the lunch after, but for the evening i wore a beautiful ivory skirt suit, it had beads and sequins and other pretty details on it, so i still looked like the belle of the ball. plus you can still have your bouquet with you… but you get to be comfy.

      Khaki’s are great for weddings on little guys!

      Our wedding is coming up this July, and our little two year old son is our ring bearer. He’ll be sporting baggy khaki shorts (almost kind of ‘skater style’…the ones that are longer than normal shorts), with a button down white shirt (sleeves rolled up), topped off with an orange tie and mohawk.

      Basically, any kind of button down shirt (whether short or long sleeved) or any nice polo top is just fine paired with khakis.

    My brother’s getting married. Both my other brother and myself are sharing the best man duty.       Yes, it’s common and standard.

      If you hate the outfits, you should bring it up politely with your brother. And he may very well tell you, “I know they’re ugly, but this is what Karen wants, so please suck it up and buy the pants.”

      And then, you can either be a good sport and buy the outfits, or you can tell your brother he needs a new best man and probably hurt his feelings really bad.

      Women have to buy ugly bridesmaid’s dresses all the time. Welcome to my world.

Whats in right now is drop waisted strapless gowns, and gowns with colour, red is a popular choice right now.

      In India white is actually a bad luck colour at a wedding, as white is a colour of mourning, much like in western culture black is a bad luck colour at a wedding.       Edit..Religion is an institution. It contains truth and distortion. One distortion is that Heaven comes at the end of your life. Only some get to go. Trying to pass this off as truth has led people not to happiness but judgment.

      I don’t see why not. People can be so snotty about having everything ‘just so’ at a wedding, yet I feel that they are really losing sight of what’s really important.

      I’m keeping everything ‘communal’ at my reception, with the one big table and us in the middle on one side. We are keeping it pretty informal and just find it so important to have everyone we care about in the same space, rather than seperated off. Convention sucks x

      Also, there’s a difference between low class and low key, with low key often being much classier x

      Amen. This is a very important kind of question that you have asked, and I thank you for asking it since it will serve to reinforce in me, the need to continue to address this matter of the ” wedding garment” before the Lord.

      As believers we are those who have been clothed with Christ as our Righteousness. He is our covering and our bold access before God. This Righteousness is very much Positional and puts us in right standing with God the Father.

      Yet this wedding garment seems to be something different and we can find it’s significance in Revelation.

      In Rev 19:8
      And it was given to her, that she should be clothed in fine linen, bright and clean, for the linen is the “righteousnesses” of the saints”

      This Righteousnesses is plural.. and are not the righteousness of Christ that we receive for our salvation. Christ as our Robe of Righteousness is what we receive for our salvation and is objective and enables us to meet the requirements of a righteous God.
      Here sis, in Revelation the “righteousnesses ” of the saints are those who take Christ as their subjective righteousness.. that is.. these are the righteous acts of the believers. This is the ” inner garment” the ” wedding garment”
      Phil 3:9
      And be found in Him, not having my own righteousness,which is out of the law, but that which is out of faith in Christ, the righteousness which is out of God and based on faith.

      We see a picture of this ” Wedding garment” in the book of Psalms. And it is made up of two garments. One outer and one inner.

      Psa 43:13-14
      The King’s daughter is all glorious with royal abode., Her garment is a woven work inwrought with Gold.
      She shall be led to the King in embroided clothing,. The virgins behind her, her companions, Will be brought to You”

      So we see ” garment woven with inwrought gold” and one of ” embroided clothing”

      This subjective righteousness corrisponds to this verse that you cited in Matt 22:11-12 and it is important to us as believers to know that the Lord needs to ” wrought and embroid ” His righteous nature into our very being.
      This is the embroiding, stitching work of the Spirit within us day by day through all kinds of situations. Where we are not only righteous before God through the Lord, but where this Lord has been given a free way in our inner being, to become our subjective righteousness. Where what we do, our very acts are this Christ as the Righteous One being lived out from us.

      This is a very precious truth and the Lord dearly needs to address this matter of our wedding garment’s preparation before His coming. What Christ has done for us to stand before God is something that we have received freely, but this inner working of the Spirit takes our cooperation day by day. May we be so given to allow Him full access into all our hearts, that He will saturate us with all that Christ is in His righteous nature.
      We do not want to be like this ” friend” who had to be cast into the outer darkness because he did not have the proper wedding garment on. He assumed that it was only the righteousness of Christ ( Robe) that was enough, and did not allow the Lord to work deep into his being, where Christ was his ” subjective inner” righteousness ( Wedding Garment). May we heed this warning in the Word of God.

    Are there any ways that I can wear my old favourites (clothes) and still look fresh at a wedding?
    I don’t want to look like I’ve worn them before amongst the same crowd.

    • ANSWER:
      Try to combine the different articles of clothing in a new, fun way.

      Do your hair differently, or your makeup.

      If you are wearing a dress you’ve worn before, maybe you could just purchase new shoes, or a new sweater to go with it. That makes it partially new, partially old.

      And honestly, just go in with confidence. Who cares if you’ve worn it before? You look good in it, you like it, you look nice for the occasion…and you didn’t spend a ton of money to make it happen.

49. QUESTION:
    What do you think about a costume party for a wedding?
    My boyfriend (I say boyfriend because he is planning on proposing in 6 months and so is not officially my fiance) and I are planning on making our wedding in October 2010 a costume party. We plan on having pirate themed wedding clothes but our guests (figuring on about 100 guests) will be able to wear what they want (they will be asked to keep it tasteful, it is a wedding after all)

      I think it would be fun! I really love Halloween and there are lots of fun things that you can use for decor, etc. for a Halloween wedding.
      You will have to figure out how to word your invitations in regards to keeping it tasteful…and just be warned, even though you say “keep it tasteful” some people still won’t get it. Just like when people put “adult only reception” on the invitations, yet there are usually some parents who will bring the kids anyone.
      I think it will be a good time – as long as you guys enjoy it and it makes you happy then there is nothing wrong with that.

50. QUESTION:
    Is there any Christian doctrine that suggests that St. John helps in preparing the Saints wedding clothes?
    For the Marriage Supper of the Lamb?

    Rev3:18 I counsel you to buy of me gold tried n the fire that you may be rich & white raiment that thou may be clothed…

    And in the Gospels, one person at the Marriage Supper isn’t wearing his wedding clothes & is thrown out into outer darkness.

    So why didn’t he wear wedding clothes to the Marriage Supper?
    Thanks Sovereign, I read that the wedding garment was put on over the regular clothes. The Father is who had this done. So? And they made their garments white by the blood of the Lamb. So? Jesus shed blood is red & washes us white as snow.
    And the wedding over garment is a white robe.

    I have been having visions of this type of thing & haven’t understood it. St. John is part of it.
    St. John isn’t a homosexual.
