Wedding Dress Rentals

How much research and consideration have you had regarding the wedding linen rentals that you will use for your big day? When you first begin to plan for your wedding, you likely find the process much easier by working with a wedding planner. A wedding planner essentially walks you through each and every step in the process of creating the perfect wedding. Weddings are all about planning, and when it comes to planning for your wedding, the results are going to show everyone involved just how much thought you actually put into the entire ceremony and reception.

If your wedding is a mish mash of uncoordinated colors and textures, your guests will know that you threw everything together at the last minute. Some people do throw everything together at the very last minute, and the results are very rarely ideal. Still, even if you do all of your planning ahead of time, long before your wedding occurs, you can still create a wedding experience that is less than ideal if you do not put as much thought into the details as you ought to. Planning a wedding is all about paying attention to the details, even obsessing about them.

Don’t you want to show your guests that your heart is in this wedding? You and your partner should get together and plan your wedding out with every detail in mind. A perfectly coordinated wedding is a beautiful and coordinated special day that your guests will remember for years to come. Do you want to make a huge impression? One of the greatest ways to make a good impression is to plan out your reception party detail by detail, choosing your wedding linen rentals that coordinate well with the other details of your wedding. Get more ideas for your wedding with wedding linen rentals by checking out http://www.magicalpartyrentals.com/rentals/weddinglinenrentals.html.

Wedding linen rentals include both table linen rentals, and chair cover rentals. Both of these accessory rentals are important when it comes to creating a perfectly coordinated and well-planned wedding event. Your guests will appreciate the thought that you put into the event, creating an amazing wedding event that is enjoyable, beautiful and most of all – memorable. Remember, most people are visual so the quality of your linen rentals will certainly enhance your guest’s experience.

High quality custom linen rentals should be superior in quality and are available in a variety of different styles, textures, colors and themes. A reputable wedding linen rentals company’s goal should be to provide you with the choices that you need, to choose the wedding linen rentals that will best fulfill not only your expectations but also the expectations of your wedding guests. The goal of your wedding planning process should be harmonizing everything perfectly. And, quite truthfully, much of this has to do with choosing the wedding linen rentals that will coordinate in color and texture to the rest of the details of your wedding. Not only should your chair cover rentals and table linen rentals coordinate with each other but they should also coordinate to the rest of your wedding, such as your floral arrangements, your wedding gown, and what your bridesmaids and groomsmen are wearing as well. For more information on custom linen rentals go to http://www.magicalpartyrentals.com/rentals/customlinenrentals.html.

If you are looking for the highest possible quality wedding linen rentals, then take some time to look at the options available to you. Do some research – it’s well worth your time. The ideal wedding linen rentals providers are companies that 00004000 offer a variety of different choices, not only just in the color of the table linen rentals and chair cover rentals, but also when it comes to texture, style and theme. All of these details are important when it comes to perfectly coordinating the details of your wedding, which is why this is not a last minute process but rather one of the first elements of wedding planning you should consider.

  3. QUESTION:
    Wedding dress rentals?
Any suggestions or tips on renting a wedding dress? I think I may prefer to rent my dress rather than buy one, but I cannot find much information on rentals.

    • ANSWER:
They don’t rent them much if at all anymore. Have a custom replica made for about the same price as renting one and then sell it on Ebay if you have no sentimental attachment to it after the ceremony. www.divascustombridal.com

  4. QUESTION:
    Wedding dress rentals in OKC?
I am looking to rent a wedding dress or find a dress around 0. I am a size 14 and am wanting a ball gown-type dress. If anyone has any suggestions or ideas please let me know! Thanks!

    • ANSWER:
The problem with a rental is that you can not have it altered specifically to you!

Why not search on Ebay for a gown? Make sure, though, that you check out the measurements. Know that bridal gowns usually run smaller, so if you wear a size 14 dress now, you may want to opt for a size 16 wedding gown.

      Here is one on Ebay:

      http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-MOONLIGHT-WEDDING-DRESS-SZ-14-Store-Liquidation-/180537276763?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Wedding_Dresses&hash=item2a08dc395b

I don’t know if you are familiar with Ebay selling/buying or not, but you should contact the SELLER directly through the link provided in the listing to ask any questions.

Good luck in your search! This is only one of a few hundred that are listed. Go on Ebay or Craigslist and see what you can find. Much better than renting one!

  17. QUESTION:
    wedding dress rental??
How many of you married women would have rented their wedding dress for half the price they paid for it. Also, for the bridesmaids…would you have rented your dress for weddings you were in??

    • ANSWER:
I think rented bridesmaid dresses are a great idea. No one wears them again anyway…it could make logical sense to rent them (they are expensive to buy and then sit in the closet forever!). For the bride’s dress, it would really depend on if you were sentimental or not. I would rent without a problem…although my Mom is great at sewing and she is making mine. Some women like to have them as a heirloom or to use for their daughters dresses.

  18. QUESTION:
Marriage is to buy or rent wedding wedding?
I would like to get married, but now should be hesitant to buy a wedding or a wedding dress rental, buy, though not expensive, but it is a waste ah, rent it, wife heart uncomfortable, so to learn from you about!

    • ANSWER:
If you future wife is set on buying a wedding dress, maybe you could cut back on some other things, and let her have it. Most girls dream about their wedding dress for years and love the idea of having their dress forever.

I personally would rent the dress if that was an option where I live, but I have no intentions of keeping my dress.

If my fiance was set on buying his tux instead of renting it, I think I would try to find a way to fit it in the budget. Your fiance needs to know that she has to make cuts somewhere else though.

I really don’t need the negative reasons and comments, just suggestions if you have regarding RENTAL WEDDING DRESSES.

    Thank you.
We never did the big wedding and we are now able to, so we are doing the entire ceremony/reception.

  25. QUESTION:
Can i rent a wedding dress?
I live in maryland and my boyfriend and i are tight on cash. I want a nice wedding, but i was wondering is it possible to rent a wedding dress for the day? I know thats kinda silly but i think it would be cool if i could rent a 4000 dollar dress out for the night and look gorgeous and then return it the next day…for a rental fee of course idk any ideas?

    • ANSWER:
I would look for a resale shop and ask to see their Never Worn dresses. There are people out there who buy a wedding dress and break up or have another life changing event that keeps them from the ceremony. You can’t return a wedding dress so they decide to take it to a resale shop. When someone buys it at the shop, the original bride gets some of the money. In my opinion, it’s a win-win-win situation. You get a great deal on a new dress, the original bride gets some of her money back and the store makes some money so it can continue to stay open and offer this service.

  26. QUESTION:
What does ‘hire’ mean when used by the british, such as “wedding dress hire”?
does this mean rental or purchase? what form of speech is it in?

    • ANSWER:
To hire means to rent for a period.
If someone hires a wedding dress it means they rent it for a time.

The word hire can be a verb. “The company will hire some extra staff.”
It can also be a noun. “Fred is a new hire”.
Or an adjective. “Michael runs a hire car.”

  27. QUESTION:
How expensive do you think a 250 guest wedding is?
I’m curious as I plan my wedding. Consider the price of the church, the flowers, the photographer, the wedding dress, the tux rental, the honeymoon trip, the presents to the wedding party and parents, the centerpieces, the DJ, the invitations, the reception hall rental, the food, the drinks, the cake, the limo, the rehearsal dinner, the champagne toast, the engagement pictures, and even the engagement ring. I’m probably forgetting some things…

    • ANSWER:
It really depends on where you live, the quality of the food/liquor, the elaborateness of the flowers etc etc. We had 200 guests at our wedding 2 weeks ago in the NYC area, and the price tag was slightly over 70K. This included the reception venue (top shelf liquor, cocktail hour, full course dinner, Viennese hour) photographer, 14 piece band, photographer + assistant, flowers (including centerpieces, and personal flowers), limo, and my dress, make-up and hair. It didn’t include the honeymoon, rings, various gifts, or any printed materials. Depending on where in the U.S. you live, the same wedding could cost 25K.

I am getting married and am trying to find my perfect dress at a perfect price! I am in love with the Mori Lee 2145, but can’t afford the 0-900 price range. I would go to a rental . Im in the dc area, and theres this boutique that rents out all of the up to date designer wedding dresses from 200-500. these dresses are beautiful and average range of 10k

  29. QUESTION:
Where can i rent a wedding dress that would be less than 100 dollars?
I’ve been looking throughout the internet but renting one,- for me- is just as much as buying one. Is there only rentals available fro over 200 dollars? Please help. I need this by feb 10th

    • ANSWER:
The spring dresses should be in stores right now, you can probably find something in white…or even a blush or pastel colour would be pretty and not unheard of for a first wedding…

David’s Bridal is a godsend…try there as well

Good will or Salvation Army can have surprisingly nice dresses…

Here in Canada, Sears has some nice dresses in the catalogue for less than 150 bucks that you can own and look nice enough to get married in…in fact, that is just what a friend of mine did…

I wore my mother in laws wedding dress to our wedding, it was perfect…my MIL paid 265 for her dress back in 1964 (we got married in 2003) and it looked like a million bucks, it was a portrait collar with a princess line…I worry my hair in a flippy do, (not totally 60s style but as a nod to the heritage of the dress) and wore a pair of 20 dollar white slingback sandals from Payless…I have had more compliments about how I looked that day than events I’ve spent a grand getting ready for…proms, new years one time etc…

My husband and I got married for less than a thousand dollars all together, we were not poor but we had lived together for 3 years previous and we were trying to save for a house…

We really thought that other things took priority than going into super big debt for a wedding…we did want to make a commitment to each other in a tangible way…

We paid very little for our wedding and it was really lovely, we fed 50 family members and friends and had a dance and had a really great time…People have said to me I should write a book about getting married on a budget, our wedding truly would have made Martha or at the very least, Rachel Ray, very proud to have attended…(I don’t mind saying)

I think the thing that made it really great was the fact that we were not freaking out about the money…

If the person who made the comment about not affording a wedding dress/shouldn’t get married doesn’t mind me saying, some people want to be able to make this committment of marriage to each other and not have to spend a lot of money. It really has nothing to do with whether you should get married or not…that was way harsh to say to this person who is trying to do the best she can, sorry!

Listen, hun, I hope you find a dress, now that you’ve put your question out there to the Universe, something should show up…

Best wishes and have a really lovely wedding day…

I am in NY and she will get married in NY or NJ She needs help with finding a plus size wedding dress that is not expensive or even a rental. I have no idea about places in England. I saw a few websites like, target and lane bryant. Anyone have any ideas?

Try David’s Bridal, they have all sizes and alot of the time they do sales, I know they have them out here on Long Island NY, and they are pretty much anywhere..

      http://www.davidsbridal.com/index.jsp

I tried on a lot of dresses at David’s and they are helpful and have TONS of different styles in EVERY size..

Another place to check is Ebay, sounds crazy but there are a lot of dresses there for a good price and if the seller is desperate, try an email and talk the price down-when it comes to wedding dresses the price on the tag is only a suggestion!!! I talked my dress down 0.

  33. QUESTION:
How much did your wedding gown cost?
I am planning a low budget wedding..
Is the dress really the most important part of it?
How much did your wedding dress cost??
How much would a decent/beautiful one cost??
No rentals please… i’m keeping mine (which i haven’t bought)

    • ANSWER:
i spent 0+ on my gown. it is more expensive then i really wanted, but just like the old saying goes. you get what you pay for.

a davids bridal dress can run in the low hundreds, but the dresses are mass produced and they wrinkle really easily and frankly are not all that good looking and probably 50 brides have tried that dress on before you.

Maggie Sottero makes very nice dresses that are good mid range. i got my first dress from her and it was around 0, the only problem i found is that it wrinkles really easy and the embroidery is really delicate. but her dresses are nice. (i have to sell it cause it’s from a wedding that never happened and i’m to big for it now XD

my new dress for my coming up wedding i bought a Mori Lee which ran me over 0 but the dress is of a quality i have never seen. the dress that i tried on in the store is stored in the plastic bad and every time we pull the try on dress out there is not a single wrinkle on it. the dress is very sturdy and even though the skirt has two layers of organza on it and very intricate beading i don’t really fear i have to worry about tearing it or loosing the beads.

so you may end up spending more but you won’t regret it in the end. i would find a dress you like and of good quality.

  34. QUESTION:
where on line can i look at pictures of rental wedding dresses?

    • ANSWER:
      Hi there

      check out weddingcentral.com.au

Hope this helps and good luck!

  35. QUESTION:
How can I save on THIS wedding dress?
So I have a very non-traditional and inexpensive dress for the wedding that I was happy with. But my in-laws suggested that I at least try on traditional dresses. By way of background, the dress I have is from their culture, and I don’t have family nearby, so most of the wedding planning has been with them.

I agreed to go, and then fell in love with this dress:

    http://www.morilee.com/Bridals/Bridal/dressint.php?idves=2507&idcat=1&idscat=1&npic=6&npag=1

    in white.

Now my wedding is only months away, and I would have to pay extra to get it rushed in. Also, while it’s not a lot of money for a wedding dress (about 00 Canadian, plus rush fees 0, plus alterations 0 and taxes $? makes it almost 00 Canadian) I still don’t want to pay that much for it.

I looked into renting it, and while that is still an option, I’m concerned with accidental damage to the dress and with the rental shop reneging on the deal (they were less than savoury characters).

Is there another way to get this dress? I would be thrilled with a knock off if it looked identical.

    • ANSWER:
The dress is absolutely beautiful! I agree with the first poster that this is your wedding and you should wear what you like. I bought my dress of a website that lets you upload pictures of any dress you like and they will copy it. I didn’t pay more than 0.00 for mine and got it within 3 weeks! I am going to leave you the link in case you want to check it out.

  36. QUESTION:
Would it be a cheesy wedding party gift?
Would it be cheesy for our gift to our wedding party be money towards their dress and tuxedo rentals? i feel it would be helpful considering the economy. This is coming from the fact that i spent 0 on a bridesmaids dress and the wedding lasted 3mos. Is it cheesy?

    • ANSWER:
Well, thats not REALLY a gift for them. Yes, it lightens their burden, but after all, its for your wedding.

The bridal party gifts really should be something for THEM. Even if it is a simple luxury bath and oils set. It doesnt need to be expensive, just something for them to enjoy!

If you can afford to help out with the dress and tux rentals, that would be lovely. But that should be separate from the gift.

  38. QUESTION:
    Pre-Owned (or Rental) Wedding Dresses?
Hi, I am in Chicago and am looking for a place that sells (or rents) couture wedding dresses from designers such as Romona Keveza, Amsale, Reem Accra, Vera Wang and Justina McCaffrey.

I was preparing to pay 00 for a Justina McCaffrey gown but something in my head told me to pump my brakes…and get off of Oak Street.

This is very popular on the East Coast but I am finding this to be really tough here in Chicago. If you have any info on this please let me know! I’ve got exactly ONE YEAR to go!!!

    • ANSWER:
I ran a quick search, and came up with “White Chicago”, located at 222 West Huron, phone number 312.397.1571. The website indicates that they sell new, sample, and “once-wed” gowns, and have a couture seamstress onsite. Vera Wang is on their list of designers, as is Badgley Mischka, Demetrios, Scaasi…

Going through consignment is a smart way to save money on a dress you love! Your search through local bridal shops and consignment shops should yield better results than my quick Y!search – mostly because you’re there and I’m in New Jersey :) Your local newspaper may have gowns listed in the classified ads (apparently more weddings get called off than we think), or if there is a fashion design program in a local university, a professor or senior student may be able to help you design the look you love at a considerable discount.

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding, and happy shopping!

  39. QUESTION:
How much does the average wedding cost?
I know there are a lot of statistics on the web right now but I would rather hear how much it cost all of you married people out there. Break it down to how much the main things cost you. Use this template to list how much each thing cost you:
    Wedding reception site:
    Wedding ceremony site:
    Wedding cake:
    Photographer:
    Wedding Dress:
    Tuxedo rental:
    Caterer:
    Wedding/engagement rings:
    Honeymoon:
    Limo service:
    Invitations:
    DJ/Music:
    Total cost of your wedding:
What other costs did you have extra? If you didn’t have all of these then you can just put [FAQ-QUESTION] next to the ones you didn’t have. I am trying to do research to find information about wedding costs. Anyone willing to participate would be a great help and I would really appreciate it.
I just want to know how much it is costing everyone else, no matter where they live but I live in Idaho.

    • ANSWER:
Weddings can be whatever you want them to be. They can reach a fair amount, or a resonable amount depending on how you done things.
I live in the UK and my wedding cost about £5000, give or take. That was with us saving on things, getting them cheaper, and so on.

My dress, I saw for £650, found for half price on the internet.
Bridesmaid dresses were from a store and altered by a friend.
Cake, car and flowers paid for by in laws. About £400
The reception, food and DJ were together. About £3,000.
Invites, done by a friend. £40 for supplies.
Decs, about £60 in total. I done them myself.
Photographer, was my uncle. No charge.
The men brought their own suits,
Accessories were under £100 for all.
      Church fees £400
      Hair, Cousin is a hairdresser
Make up, Sister in laws mum offered. No cost
      Favours, gifts. £100 about.

      And so on.
We saved where we could, used family, friends and anyone else who could help.
So it is possible to make it a reasonable wedding for limited cost. Our wedding went off with NO hitches and we didn’t use proffessional florists, make up, hair, invites, table decs, seamstress.

If you want to save pennies, find friends, friends of friends etc to help if they have the skills and talents
      Good luck

  44. QUESTION:
I am a bridesmaid, and my husband is the Bestman for his brothers wedding. Can we walk down the isle together?
This is my husbands brothers wedding, and I am a bridesmaid, but am doing all the work as the Maid of Honor. Even giving the speech as my new sister in-law’s friend is “too shy” and not a good organizer. I have planned the shower and bacheloret trip, picked out the wedding dress and brides maid dresses, organized and ordered most of the wedding stuff, DJ, rentals, Tuxes, favors, invitations, etc. Is it too much to ask that my husband and I get to walk down the ilse and have our pictures together instead of us with strangers? I don’t mean I should be MOH, or stand next to the bride, just be my husbands date? TO BE CLEAR I am notasking tobe the MOH, nor am I making this a big deal, nor am I RUDE. Its a valid question. I am a very loving an accomidating sister in-law and doing ALOT to help because I was asked to. Also this is a family wedding and its not just 30 seconds, its the isle, the table, the pictures, etc. Also our son is ring baurer. Thanks for all the opinions, it is helping.

I posted the question again becasue I made a mistake on the other one, I have never done this before. I am surprised how mean ppl can be on here. Dont answer if you its bothering you so much.
To those of you who issued advice with you calling me names I really appriciate it, you are right, I dont think I would have said anything, I does bother me a little for a few other reasons, but not enough to upset anyone. I just had a baby as well and am probably a little insecure right now even getting into a dress, and the girl is super hot and well, my hormones are a little sensitive. Thanks for your time :)

Answer: She told me several times she would have liked me to be MOH but that she felt obligated to ask the other girl, which is really fine with me, I just wanted to be with my husband if that was not too much to ask, thats all. No big deal.

    • ANSWER:
      Stop posting the same question!

If you want to hear” Yes, walk down the aisle together” then here you go… “Yes, walk down the aisle together!” happy?

  45. QUESTION:
    Rental Wedding Gowns?
I live in the bay area does anyone know of a good place I can rent a wedding dress. Since times are so hard these days I want to have a nice wedding (-) the dollar amount. Can anyone help me? Thank you

    • ANSWER:
Odd, a couple weeks ago someone was on Y/A wondering if she should allow a dear family member to borrow her dress to rent out…

A generation ago, there were places to rent dresses, (and it sounds like a good idea, too) but so many people have succumbed to the hysteria of the wedding industry that it’s rarely done any more. Women are harder to fit than men, though, and altering a dress not as easily done as altering a tux.

Scour craigslist.com, maybe theknot.com will have (former)brides in your area who would love to sell that gown taking up space in their closets. I even fitted a bride this past summer who wanted me to hem her dress without cutting any off so she could re-sell it in it’s original condition on craigslist! You can limit your ebay search, too, to people in your area.

Our goodwill and Salvation army stores have only homely, outdated dresses, but if you live near a bigger city you may have better luck. You can try consignment shops, too Check the yellow pages for them. Some have current clothing, some specialize in vintage clothing. A vintage dress in white or even a color would certainly be something that the guests won’t see three more times next summer.

  46. QUESTION:

  47. QUESTION:
What are some first steps to planning a wedding?
I’m getting married in October. I want a nice wedding but have little time to plan it. We only want to spend maybe k on everything. Dresses (i’m buying bridemaids’ dress cuz of short notice), catering, rentals, decor, honeymoon, etc.

I refused to spend alot on my wedding a suffer for it later. Any advice would be appreciated.

    • ANSWER:
First and foremost, since October is a short 4 months away, I recommend finding your location and nailing down the exact date first. Lots of places book a year in advance, but I’m sure you’ll still be able to find a place that you both love!

While hunting for a place to hold the wedding & reception, I would also start compiling a guest list & gather contact (address, email, etc.) for those guests so that you have their information to mail invitations.

Once you nail down the location, next I’d say send a “Save the Date” but since it’s so close… I’d do an e-vite “Save the Date” just to give your guests a heads up! Then, about 2-3 months before your date, mail out your invites. Check online and in bridal magazines for cool invitation ideas!

Also, if you haven’t already, start looking at dresses for not only you but bridesmaids ASAP! If they need to be altered some places can take up to 45 days for alterations. This way, you can get your colors for the wedding party set & start thinking more about decor & flowers.

If you are booking a hotel or ballroom for the reception, check with them about decorating the space. Most places will allow you to bring in your own flowers, place settings, etc…

I have plenty more information where that came from. Let me know if you need some helpful tips!!
My fiance & I are getting married next summer in Ireland and I’m already getting started. Because of the wedding being in a different country I want to make sure I have everything covered with enough time to spare!

      Good luck & best wishes!

  48. QUESTION:
Whose names go on the wedding invitation?
My parents are paying for most of the wedding, the entire reception, dresses, flowers, musicians, invitations…. all that jazz, but his dad paid for the rental of the wedding location and he is paying for the rehersal dinner and giving us airline miles to use for our honeymoon. So, whose names go on the invitation? My parents think just theirs since they are paying for the bulk of the wedding but I almost think that his dad and step mom should be on there too. But I am conflicted. What does ettiquette say and what is your personal opinion.
Generally if the bride’s parents pay for the wedding it is hosted by them and just their names are on the invitation. But the only thing his dad paid for was the wedding site. Everything else is being paid by my parents. So that is why I am unsure as to if his name should be added to the invitation.

    • ANSWER:
Well, there’s what etiquette says, and then there’s what modern fad and fashion masquerading as etiquette says. You’ve already had a chance to hear the latter.

What etiquette says, is that the invitation must state:
      - WHO is issuing the invitation, that is, who is hosting
      - WHOM they are inviting
      - to WHAT
      - WHEN, and
      - WHERE
There’s nothing on that about recognizing funders, “recognizing” important contributors, or any other public flaunting of private financial matters, because etiquette forbids disclosing money matters in public as gauche.

So your question is really, who is “hosting” this event. There’s more to hosting than just paying the bills. The host is the person who takes personal responsibility for the well-being, comfort and entertainment of the guests. Regardless of who is paying, if you are the one deciding that a cold entree is “good enough” and that a two hour drive between venues is a good idea, then you are the hostess and need to take responsibility for those decisions. Or take the *credit*, if you have decided to have an in-town wedding to accomodate your grandparents who cannot travel and are scheduling your photographs before the ceremony so as to not leave your guests hanging. Or your mom and dad should shoulder the blame or credit, if *they* are the ones making the decision.

Airline miles are irrelevant to the guests — that’s just for you and hubby; and your fiance’s dad is going to have his name on the rehearsal dinner invitations as the host of that, so it too is irrelevant.

But, there’s nothing to stop you from putting your fiance’s parents name on the invitation as part of explaining the “what” part of the invitation:

      Mr and Mrs John G
request the pleasure of the company of

at the wedding of their daughter
      Angela
      to
      Mr Handsome Guy
Son of Mr and Mrs Parents Guy…

  49. QUESTION:
Is it ok to not give wedding favors to guests/wedding party?
I’m doing a pretty large wedding/reception with the guest list at about 250.

Hors d’œuvre’s will be served between the ceremony and reception and there will also be an open wine/beer bar. We’ll also be doing a full buffet style dinner.

Regarding the wedding party. The tux rentals for groomsmen and the dresses for the bridesmaids have all been paid in full by me. It looks as if I might have to foot the bill on the bridal shower as well.

Now.. I thought wedding favors and gifts for wedding party were a MUST HAVE but I attended a wedding last Friday and there were no wedding favors given out. The only thing we brought home were the bubbles you blow as the married couple leave.

Now I’m considering no favors (unless you count the bubbles which I do not) since we’ll be doing full dinner, cocktail hour as well as an open bar. I’m also considering no gifts for the wedding party since so far I’ve footed the bill on tux rentals, dress purchases and potentially the bridal shower.

I’m not made of money but I wanted to make sure the girls and guys weren’t going to get stuck renting/buying 0.00 suit/dress they’d only wear for a day because I asked them to do that “honor”. I’ve been a maid of honor before and it was during a time when I could barely afford the dress so I wanted to make sure they wouldn’t have that problem.

Is it OK to not have wedding favors and wedding party gifts? Or is that just tacky?

    • ANSWER:
In regards to wedding favours – they are definitely not deemed mandatory any more – after all you typically spend at least 0 per guest on food and alcohol… and you seem to be spending a lot more than that.

In regards to wedding party gifts, I PERSONALLY think they are essential. BUT their tux or dress for your wedding IS their gift.

      I wouldn’t think it is tacky. :)
