   Where can I find a fake flower hair piece for my wedding?
   I am having a winter wedding and I can’t seem to find a nice fake flower hair piece to put in my hair. (I am doing a messy low side bun). Any suggestions? I have tried Micheals, Wal-Mart, and some on line places but not all. And I can’t have a real flower; although it would be nice it would die in the cold for our outside pics.

     “Clair’s”, usually in malls. They also have white flowers and you might be able to find it on their website, but I’m not sure.

2. QUESTION:
   I have short hair and its not long enough for the clip on styles of hair pieces any suggestions?
   I would like to wear my hair up for my wedding with a hair piece,but my hair isn’t long enough for the clip on styles,it would just be worn for my wedding. I can’t get it into a ponytail at all.

   • ANSWER:
     Go to HSN.com and check out Toni Bratton under beauty section.
     She has many hairpiece styles clip-on, combs, extensions,pins, etc. that are very unique.
     They will work in anyone’s hair, no matter how short, I have seen her do a demo on tv on a model that had pixie style hair.
     I have below shoulder length hair, I own about 10 of her hairpieces, they are great, when you want to pin your hair up or want it to look nice and don’t feel like going to a lot of trouble styling it.
     The hairpieces are very high quality, look very natural, colors blend with your hair well.

3. QUESTION:
   Wedding hair piece – help!
   I’m going away to get married next week and am looking for a hairpiece as I have quite short hair. I have never used one before and know nothing about them. Are they easy to use and can anyone recommend somewhere I can buy one?

   • ANSWER:
     You ought to look in your local directory to see who sells them. However, as you are getting married next week you’ll have to get a move on. Some of the larger department stores (Debenhams, John Lewis, House of Fraser) sell them. Get the colour as near as dammit but dye your own to match if not. Could take some time to get it right. Or, you could buy real hair and then you can match it easily by dying both the same colour although some hair types take colour differently. The most IMPORTANT thing to remember is to secure it really well onto your own head. If your hair is fine and short you need to backcomb it spray with hairspray and then curl it around a grip (like a kiss curl) so you have something to anchor the false hair onto. You could look at some websites: Try ebay for “Wigs” and this should give you the names of websites which you might be able to buy from in time for wedding. You can hide any colour difference with a headband, tiarra or scarf. What you really need to do is get hold of one this weekend and practice, practice, practice. Good luck, it’ll be well worth it.

   I’m looking for something different to wear in my hair as a bride instead of a veil. I wanted a floral hair piece, but my flowers are gerber daisies, so I’m not sure that would look good as a hair ornament. Any other ideas? Thanks.
   Dana, I love the look of the feathery pieces – so cool! Only thing is, I try to avoid animal products and I’d be concerned that the feathers came from birds that did not meet a happy fate… would love something along those lines but bird-friendly! Maybe faux feathers or….? Actually, I have fondant birds on my cake. Anyone have a photo of that “sex in the city” movie bird hair piece? Thanks.

5. QUESTION:
   Question about fake hair on wedding day?
   I have recently cut my hair just above my shoulders, and our wedding is in ten days. I have always wanted to have long curly hair when I got married, and I have a hair piece that clips over a short ponytail and it looks like I have long curly hair, tied back really nice. I was thinking of having some small flower clips in my hair, and a veil. Would it be weird to use fake hair for your wedding?

     no, it wouldn’t be weird! it is just how you always wanted you hair for your wedding so it would be perfect. people get fake nails for their weddings. and fake tans. so why not fake hair?

6. QUESTION:
   How to fix flowers in hair for wedding?
   I am interested in wearing a fresh flower or flowers in my hair for a wedding (instead of the veil thing), but how do you get them to stay put? Do florists do flower hair pieces?

   • ANSWER:
     Flowers is the hair may be worn several ways.

     If the flowers are to be scattered in your hair, I would talk to your hair stylist. Based on what you plan to do with your hair would determine what type of flower or how many you will want in your hair. If you want a wreath, crown, or mini corsage, again, first determine how you are wearing your hair. The florist could attach the flowers to a comb that your hair stylist could put in your hair. The flowers could then be secured by bobby pins.

     I would decide how I am wearing my hair first. Then you need to work with both florist and stylist.

     I also suggest if you plan on an orchid, or gardenia, or another type flower, and your day will be long from first pictures to evening reception, you might want to order two,
     one may be wilted or trashed by all the hugging. You will be able to freshen your look before your reception.

8. QUESTION:
   I’m having a turquoise and chocolate wedding, can anyone help with hair accessories?
   We’re going to be carrying turquoise and chocolate calla lily arrangements, and want to have pin up style hair with flowers on the side. Do we need to keep the Calla Lily motif, of could we deviate from that and have a bigger, more tropical looking flower?
   And where is a good place to find something like this? I’m having trouble finding good hair pieces.

     Now is a good time to find stuff like that, since prom is right around the corner – places like Claire’s or The Icing will carry a lot of hair accessories. Luckily, the flower pins/clips are in right now, so hopefully you can find a good selection.

     I think it would look nice if you could find a white calla lily clip to pair with the turquoise and chocolate flowers. However, if you can’t find a calla lily clip that you like, I think it would be okay to go with a different flower – like a rose.

    How should I do my hair for the wedding I’m going to? Any Up-do advice?

    • ANSWER:
      Take a random chunky section and give a slight twist to it and bobby pin it up at the root. So, it’s not the whole chunk going up…it’s the roots being twisted in a random chunky loop. Kinda like your hair is going half up but a little more than hat and it looks elegant. Either put pomade on before you do this or a shine spray after to reduce any frizzies.
      Choice #2 This will work if putting it all up or half of it, which ever you’d prefer. Using chunky random sections, tie your hair in a knot (like the first part in tying a shoe) but, over and over and over until you only have those small pieces left. Then bobby pin that twisted hair up and let the ends curl out on their own or iron them. Cosmetologist =o)

    Help! I’m having trouble finding a hairstyle I like for my wedding day that my hair will actually work with!?

    Wedding hair style with MIL head piece?
    I am hoping to find a good hair style to wear with my mother in laws 1980′s headband part of her veil. The headband part came apart from the veil so I am just going to wear that piece. The headband is ivory about an inch or so in width (thicker at the top) and kind of crochet like, in other words very 80s but i think that it could work since headbands are in right now.

      Personally, I like the one with the birdcage veil, but you might prefer a full veil. Hopefully this gives you some ideas!

      Also, if the headpiece looks too retro, you might sew in some jewels or beads or attach a flower or rhinestone pin. That might make it look more modern.

      Sorry, I don’t have a picture for an example, but my opinion is that bare backs are SO pretty for brides! Even though long hair can be elegant, if you are wearing a spaghetti strap dress and flowers in your hair, I would go with all hair pinned up and off the neck. Plus, if there is humidity and/ or wind, having it all up will be one less worry!

      i would pull it back and wear a low bun or fancy ponytail so that way you don’t have to worry about pulling up those little hairs at the back of your neck. you can make a ponytail or bun look really sleek and fancy with a side part and a little volume at the crown without making it look too overdone for the brides peace of mind

    I recently had my trial run for my wedding day and my hair style cost . I know that changes on the day of the wedding and the price gets jacked up…is that just because they are putting a head piece and veil in?? What gives the salon the right to jack up the price of a hairstyle just because it’s the day of the wedding? Is there anyway I can fight this?

      That totally depends on the salon. I found a salon near me (in Chicago which is usually more expensive) that will do a hair trial for and the price stays the SAME for your wedding day. The only reason they jack up the price is because they can, and the way you can fight it is by not giving them your business! If the price is a problem for you, I think you should find another salon.       I’d say your best bet is to use volumizing mousse when your hair is wet, and then curl it when it’s dry. And use a lot of hairspray.

      By the way, if you want your hair to look exactly like hers, you need a team of stylists and a ton of hair (not all of it has to be yours).

    And said I wanted a long full fringe, not blunt on the ends but feathery, with the long bits at the sides to frame my face. I said I wanted it to start ‘far back’ (i.e. full), but 1. he cut it basin style, making my face look rounder, no long bits framing my face, 2. he started it way too far back, I mean, right on the crown of my head, so no room to bring any pieces of hair forward to make the long bits, 3. he must have used thinning scissors to take the weight out becuase although my hair is thick, it is now very ‘bitty’, 4, he made the parting wonky! it should fall from a centre parting, but it goes back deeper on one side, making it look lopsided!!! I am getting married in one week and I’m devastated. I had that Brigitte Bardot picture as the inspiration for my wedding hair, it was the only pic I found that was just perfect, and believe me, I could have done a better job if i’d done it myself. In fact, i’ve cut my fringe myself a thousand times and it looked great and I only had a ‘professional’ do my hair because it’s for my wedding, you know? what a disaster!

    I have though about using some clip in extensions and having them trimmed around to cover up this mistake, and someone suggested a clip on fringe, which I’m not convinced about. Will it work? At the moment I look like Jim Carrey in Dub & Dumber. NOT a good look. If I pull my hair back off my face like in the picture, I look like a basin head! I have pulled it down and tried to straighten it but it still isn’t long enough. I specifically said I wanted it long, full, bouncy, longer than my eyebrows, not blunt on the ends but soft and feathery like Goldie Hawn. He has flipping RUINED my hair! AND he got hair colour all around my forehead.

      Why did you put up with this? You should have refused to pay!.. go back and ask him to either give you the money back or to provide you with hair extensions.
      You can get fringes, which clip onto the top of your hair, but i think this is for peeps who “want” a fringe or make a fringe fuller or with definition, it may work… sometimes the shop has a sample on show, so i suppose you can try it out.
      However, i think the best course of action is to buy clip in hair extentions, that way you can hide the longer parts under the fringe and trim it around the nasty fringe he cut, and try and tweeze them around.
      I assume that you are going to get your hair done by a dresser on the day, perhaps take the extentions to her and see if she can help develope a style that will be how you want it on the day. Basically a trial run.
      I`m so sorry that he ruined your day, but unfortunately, we cannot grow it naturally, but like i said, we do have hair extentions, and the natural hair ones can be dyed to suit your colouring.
      Dont worry, no point ( you dont want bad skin on you day with worry), be matter of fact, and approach this with a solution and not see it as a problem.

      It doesn’t have to match, just stick with diamonds and a similar style and you’ll be fine. Look for delicate pieces or take the hairpiece to your jeweler and have something made.

      I used a rhinestone headband. It added sparkle without being a tiara, which I felt would have been a bit much. It worked out well because I wanted my hair down, but wanted the front pieces pulled back

      Oooh Sounds to me like you bought an ash blonde. I have naturally blonde hair and I bought a box color and died it a purple gray color..IT WAS HORRIBLE! You need to just buy a darker color. I have always highlighted my hair and Im sick of it so Im actually growing my Natural color which is a medium blonde. I suggest dying it darker to something thats close to your natural color. You may have to go darker. Unfortunately but who knows you may like it. Go with a natural tone and stay away from “cool” tones. You dont want gold or yellow tones. Maybe a color like this:
