Wedding T Shirts

You have decided to have the best wedding ever – on the beach. While a lot has been said and written about for beach wedding attire for the bride, the grooms don’t have to feel left out. In fact, they have quite a lot of options to choose from, but today we will have a good look at one of the most favored choices that a groom can have for his beach wedding – the Guayabera shirt.

It is a classic Cuban shirt known for its comfortable and casually fashionable look. They are also known as Mexican wedding shirts and cigar shirts and can be worn casual and un-tucked in the traditional Caribbean Guayabera wedding shirt style! Whatever the name, you’ll recognize the classic lines, four pockets, and alforzas (two vertical rows of small pleats), The top of each pocket is usually adorned with a matching shirt button, as are the bottoms of the alforza pleats. Vertical rows of adjusting buttons are often seen, one on each side, at the bottom hem. While most versions of the design have no placket covering the buttons, a few newer designs do. Guayabera are as popular now as they were 200 years ago.

The reason Guayabera Shirts are such as obvious choice for a beach wedding is because these shirts are flattering, comfortable and fits all sizes apart from making you look and feel good! The shirt is light, classy and you wear it outside the trousers allowing for easy movement and comfort ability.

The classic Guayabera Shirt is made of linen which is the fabric of choice. You also get Guayabera Shirts in cotton or a poly/cotton blend. Flax or linen is one of the oldest known fabric to man. Though the fiber and the fabric are both commonly known as linen, it is actually flax, the fiber of the Linum plant. The reason linen Guayabera Shirts are preferred by beach wedding grooms around the world is simply because linen drapes over the skin in a tropical weather rather than clinging on to it and it can provide natural air conditioning to the body leaving the groom cool and fresh throughout the wedding. Linen is also easier to care for than cotton. You can wash and tumble dry like you would with your T-Shirts or jeans, pull immediately from the dryer and hang. Any wrinkles will fall right out and it’ll have a nice soft look. You can also press your shirt for a crisp look and don’t even have to add starch to the washing.

The Guayabera shirt never go out of style so you can still use it after the wedding and relive those beautiful glorious moments of your beach wedding. These shirts are also suitable as office wear and formal dress clothing. The shirt is considered as a virile statement and polished look in the Cuban and Mexican community where a white linen shirt of the embroidered Guayabera design is a show of confidence and of good taste.

  5. QUESTION:
Want to do personalized t-shirts for wedding day beach party after the wedding?
Any suggestions on where to go online?

    • ANSWER:
We did personalized t-shirts for each member of the wedding party, the minister and parents. Each one was printed on our own printer and then ironed on to the t-shirt. The kits are very inexpensive and if you go to a craft store the shirts are at good prices too! Each one was done like a movie marquee with our names and date and then on the body of the shirt was a cute ‘bio’ for each person such as, for one of the groomsmen:

      Joe Smith

This is Joe’s second time in a supporting role. His previous experience was in a family production. Joe’s role includes making sure the groom is on time, and as the only single groomsman – dancing with all the eligible women of legal age and generally making sure everyone has a good time!

We passed them out at rehearsal as an ice breaker since alot of the wedding party did not know each other and it was a major hit! Six years later I am getting requests to make them for others.

Does anyone know where I can find a t-shirt wedding dress pattern for free?
They used to have this dress on Uncommon Threads website. Now I can’t find it.

    http://www.generation-t.com/media/uncommon-threads/

Can anyone help me find it? Does anyone have a link to the old website that had the dress?
I would buy the book on the website above but I only need that one pattern. Please help !

    • ANSWER:
EDIT: I decided to take a look at my local library to see if they had the book and I took it out.

      Ingredients:
      7 white t-shirts
      ruler
      tailor’s chalk
      scissors
      straight pins
      needle and thread

      the top:
      1. Lay a white t-shirt flat and cut off the hem (save it to use in step 12 of the skirt). Cut off only the ends of the sleeves (just above the hem). Cut an additional 2″ loop of the bottom of the shirt and set it aside.
      2. Measure 10″ down the front of the shirt starting at the neck band, mark it with a pin, and cut a slit from the neck band down to the pin.
      3. Mark a straight line from the bottom of the slit to the bottom of the shirt. Measure that line (x) then cut a strip from the loop cut in step 1 that measures (x) long by 2″ wide. (Save the remaining fabric for step 7.) Center and pin the strip over the chalk line, with both sides right side up. Baste along the center of the strip through both layers. Remove pins.
      4. Pull the thread and push against the fabric to gather the front of the shirt into a slight ruffle. (This will shorten the length from 14″ to about 8″.) Sewing along the same line, backstitch it in place.
      5. Tuck the corners of the neck band inside the shirt to create a deep V-neck. Cut through the sleeve ends (from step 1) to make two 1″-wide strips. Cut off the hem stitching from their edges and tie them in bows around the front of the shoulders, bunching the sleeves.
      6. Turn shirt over, mark the center back from the neck band to the hem edge. Cut along that line *only* through the back.
      7. Cut the remainder of the 2″ strip in half lengthwise (stitch it so you have two 1″-wide by 34″-long strips). Thread one strip through each armhole, wrap each end once around the sleeve (gathering it in the back), and tie the ends in a bow across the back of the shirt.
8.Twist the two cut edges to the inside and tie the corners together in a knot at the waist.
      9. For a better fitting bodice, poke two small holes 1″ in from the two twisted edges on the back and about 5″ below the strip you tied in step 7. Thread the remaining 1″ strip through the holes, wrap each end once around the twist, send it through the hole again, and tie it in the back.
      10. Untie the bottom knot in the back, put the top on, retie the knot, and adjust the gathered cap sleeves around your shoulders as desired.

      the skirt
      1. Lay your six t-shirts flat and, one at a time, cut (through both layers) across the torsos just below the sleeves (creating tubes about 18″ high).
      2. Cut through one side of four of the resulting tubes to make four triangles (each about 18″ by 45″)
      3. Place two of those rectangles together (wrong sides in), lining up the hemmed edges, and pin along one 18″ edge. Sew 1/4″ in along the pinned edge using a backstitch, stopping at the hem stitching. (This creates a decorative external seam.) Repeat with the other two rectangles and remove all pins.
      4. Take one of the two newly sewn rectangles and, with wrong sides together, pin one of the 18″ edges to an 18″ folded edge of one of the uncut tubes (from step 1). Pin the other edge of the rectangle to the other side of the tube, creating a much larger tube. Sew along both pinned edges 1/4″ from the edge using a backstitch and stopping at the hem. (The double-thickness tube becomes the front panel of the skirt.) Remove pins.
      5. Repeat step 4 with the remaining rectangle and tube.
      6. Insert one large tube inside the other, wrong sides together. Line up the double-layer panels and the hemmed edges. Pin the rough edges together and sew 1/4″ from the edge using a backstitch.
      7. From the tops of the six t-shirts, cut rectangles about 8″ by 20″ through both layers of fabric (cutting just inside the sleeves and just below the neckline).
      8. Pin all the rectangles together along the 8″ edges, wrong sides together, and sew 1/4″ from the edges using a backstitch, creating a wide loop.
      9. Measure 1″ down from the top edge of the loop and baste around the circumference of the entire loop.
      10. Pull the thread and push the fabric to gather the ruffle so that each 20″-long panel is reduced to about 7″ or 8″ long.
      11. With the right sides facing up, pin the gathered ruffle around the bottom of the tube from step 6, placing the basting stitch line over the hem stitching. Adjust the gathers to fit the circumference of the skirt and sew over the basting stitch with a backstitch. Remove pins.
      12. Cut off the bottom hem of a seventh t-shirt just below the hem stitching. Thread it through the drawstring casing of the two back panels at the top of the skirt. Pull the drawstring tight, gathering the back of the waistband into a small keyhole, and tie a bow.

Optional: Add small rosebuds or other decorations sprinkled around the skirt.

Hopefully you can make the dress become a reality!
      The instructions were copied word-for-word.
Hope they aren’t too difficult to follow without the pictures!

  11. QUESTION:
    Alternative to wedding party t-shirts?
The bride wants us to club-hop for her Bachlorette Party. She also wants us to wear the t-shirts that announce your status in the wedding. I’m worried that it may make some girls feel awkward since she is inviting more than just the Bridal party. Please HELP with any other suggestions.

    THANKS!!!

    • ANSWER:
How about bridal party sashes…like beauty contestants…I really don’t think anyone who is coming out to celebrate would feel awkward, but you could make some sashes with funny sayings for those not in the party…the money saved on t-shirts could afford to do this!

  12. QUESTION:
how can I create a Web Page for my little businnes of Mugs, Wedding Favors, Albums, T-shirts with photos and?
much moore, I am starting I need help! please!

    • ANSWER:
You can create a store through www.etsy.com or if you want your own website, but don’t want to pay someone to make one for you and don’t have the skills to do it yourself, go to www.homestead.com.

I made my website for my company through them and I am completely useless at computers. It doesn’t cost too much and looks pretty professional it’s www.allpawsin.com if you want to see how mine turned out.

Again, there is nobody more useless with computers than me and I did it all on my own. . .yeah, I’m proud of it!

  13. QUESTION:
Not white or black shirt to a wedding?
I’m going to my friends wedding in a couple weeks.Apparently my invitation was not sent out on accident and he later called to invite me.I don’t have a suit and can’t afford to buy clothes for this since I am unemployed at the moment.

Is it ok if I wore an off color shirt with a matching tie? Perhaps something like a burnt orange or a dark purple.Something along those lines.

Also do I need to wear black pants or are khakis also acceptable?

The wedding is in the afternoon with a reception and dinner with an open bar afterwards at a banquet hall.

    • ANSWER:
Yes, you can wear any color dress shirt – no need to limit yourself to black or white. You may also want to wear a tie and a jacket/blazer if you have one.

If your khakis are nice looking (not the grungy cargo pants that you wear to rake the leaves or whatever) then they will be fine.

Remember, as long as you dressed appropriately, you don’t have to be really fancy. People aren’t going to be paying much attention to what you’re wearing.

  14. QUESTION:
My fiance wants to wear his shirt out for our wedding. Should he then wear it with or without a jacket?
My fiance is not exactly a very small man & usually wears his shirts untucked (except for work) which hides his belly & I like the look. For our wedding I don’t mind him having this look but i’m a bit worried that it will look too informal. Also if he chooses this look should he wear it with or without a jacket? Any ideas anyone? Has anyones fiance’s tried this look for their wedding?

    • ANSWER:
You’re fiance needs to suck it up (no pun intended) and tuck in his shirt for the wedding. If you’re having a casual beach wedding that’s one thing (rolled up linen slacks and an untucked white dress shirt could look quite smart for that sort of event), but assuming you’re having the traditional tux and big-white-dress sort of affair he needs to dress appropriately. With a tuxedo, he would be wearing braces (suspenders) and that simply will not work with an untucked shirt. If he’s concerned about his appearance may I gently suggest that he take up some sort of physical activity prior to the big day?

  15. QUESTION:
Could I wear a skirt and a shirt to a wedding?
Well tomorrow i have a wedding im going to and i don’t really want to wear a dress. Don’t most people wear clothes since it is not there wedding?

    • ANSWER:
They wear clothes for special occasions. Even if its a female pant-suit for a special occasion it would still be appropriate. Just make sure the colors are not flashy, but classy as well as the outfit you buy.

For example, a pant suit like this could be appropriate for a wedding http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=476225&CategoryID=39098

  16. QUESTION:
My wedding dress is off-white, can the groom and groomsmen still wear white shirts?
I found the perfect wedding dress. It is off white..it is kind of a shimmery color. I didn’t think about the menswear for the tuxedos. My groom wants to wear a traditional black tux and we assumed he would wear a white shirt. He really does not like off white for his shirt color. Our accent color is baby blue. Can the groomsmen and the groom go ahead and wear white shirts anyway?

    • ANSWER:
Yes. It’s not going to be that much of a difference that it would look bad. Plus, everyone in the wedding party doesn’t have to match perfectly…just as long as there’s a similar theme to tie it all together.

  23. QUESTION:
Where will i find buyers of wedding gowns, evening/prom gowns, t-shirts, flower girl dresses?
I am a distributor of wedding gowns, evening and prom gowns, flowergirl dresses, communion dresses and im looking for a buyer.

    • ANSWER:
It depends on who you rep for. If you work with a really good company then you should have a lead list from them.
You may be interested in working on your own web site and see if you can start selling gowns there. It is hard to sell to most Bridal Salons. I carried too many lines and reduced down to only two. I find companies in my mail all the time. When I call I get the run around of who to talk to or just a line direct to China. I just don’t trust most companies any more unless I see the rep in my office.
Good luck with all your endeavors.

I would buy a dress for the occasion but I need something that I’d wear again and I know I certainly wouldn’t.
My entire wardrobe consists of skinny jeans, t-shirts and hoodies (not exactly wedding friendly). What outfit could I piece together to wear? I’m obviously going to have a buy some new stuff but I want things I could still re-wear. I don’t want to look girly however so it would have to be something that’s relatively punk without being too offencive for a wedding.

    Thanks in advance.

  26. QUESTION:
What would you think of a wedding that was very casual?
I had a dream about my wedding being very casual (jeans, t-shirts, cowboy hats and boots, Native American dress and such), and wondered how people would react if that happened in real life. What are your thoughts? Also, wondered if anyone had heard of or attended a wedding like that, since the only weddings I’ve heard of or attended were very formal.

    • ANSWER:
It’s not as stressful, that’s for sure!! :) Some guests may stick their noses up at such a casual wedding, but it can be really laid back and fun… A wedding is about the marriage and not actually the wedding itself… That’s something you should always remember… The wedding industry has elaborated into a fancy gathering… Which it can be… But it IS $$$$$… And only for a couple hours… You have the wedding YOU want… And if that means jeans and tshirts, then so be it!! I heard one friend of mine attending a casual wedding and she said it was one of the funnest weddings she has ever been to…. It’s the people that make it fun… Not so much the environment around them…

  27. QUESTION:
What should I wear to a wedding reception?
I am going to a wedding reception this Saturday and was wondering what is the appropriate attire. I was invited to the wedding but I can’t make the actual wedding. Is a nice shirt and tie a necessity?

    Advice is appreciated.
Ugh….. I figured as much. Lame.

    • ANSWER:
Yes you must wear dress pants or khakis and a dress shirt and a tie, if you are a man. If you are a woman you have to wear a formal dress or ncie shirt with skirt.
Also bring a gift or a wedding card with money in the card (a check).

  28. QUESTION:

  29. QUESTION:
I am wearing a diamond white wedding dress, what color shirt does the groom wear?
Is there such a thing as a diamond white tuxedo shirt? Can’t find any online..

    • ANSWER:
I would strongly recommend sticking with the traditional white shirt. In pictures, ivory or off white shirts look dingy or dirty. The shirt and your dress won’t be so close together that anyone will notice that they are different, and diamond white is so close to white that it’s almost impossible to tell. I managed a tuxedo shop for 5 years and had many a bride come to me afterward and thank me for my guidance…you don’t want to look back on your pictures 10 years from now and wince at how bad the tuxes are!

  32. QUESTION:
Does anyone know where I can order Bridal Iron-ons ?
I would like to make the wedding party shirts for rehearsal. We have a larger wedding party and I don’t want to spend a ton of money on shirts. Id like to make them but am having a hard time finding Iron ons. Anyone know a good store or web site ? Or local Michael’s don’t have what I need….

    • ANSWER:
You can buy Iron on printer paper. Than you can personalize them. Try looking at staples, walmart, anywhere that sells printer paper.

  33. QUESTION:
Will the white dress shirts worn by my groomsmen clash with my wedding dress?
Here is a picture of my gown: http://www.davidsbridal.com/bridal_gowns_detail.jsp?stid=2660&prodgroup=92

If it clashes, what should they wear instead – it is going to be kind of formal but they don’t have to wear tuxes…
If the men wear tuxes then they’ll wear ties…but I don’t really like the look of colored vests or ties..I think it looks too matchy-matchy…like the cast of some cheesy broadway review…

    • ANSWER:
nope, i don’t think you’ll risk clashing at all. congrats :)

  34. QUESTION:
The traditional 2nd year wedding gift is “cotton” any suggestions besides socks and shirts? Also any sugge
Also… is there anyone who has a suggestion on what to make for an aniversary dinner that isn’t too expensive… something unique and delicious?? thank you

    • ANSWER:
How about a new set of really nice sheets? Like some good high thread count Egyptian cotton? Make up the bed, and light some candles…it won’t seem nearly as mundane as it sounds!

One of my favorite “romantic” dinners is a small collection of what are usually considered appetizers. Some nice cheese and crackers, a shrimp cocktail to share, and a glass of wine. It’s satisfying, can be eaten in between “activities”, and doesn’t make one feel bloated, or overly full.

      Happy anniversary!

  36. QUESTION:
How can I make my Wedding and Reception even more fun?!?
Okay everyone, so here’s the deal: We are having a wedding in about a month. Hawaii is a large part in our lives as that’s where he proposed when I visited him there when he was in the Navy. I also have been doing Polynesian dancing since I was 7 and I am 25 now.

So what we are doing is a mostly casual thing. Everyone is asked to be casual and comfortable. No gifts either. There will be approx 200 guests including kids. It will all take place in the evening, starting at 5:00pm and it will be dark around 8:00pm that night. It’s all at his parents house in the country on acres and acres.

As guests arrive, the dancers will be greeting them with a lei and kiss on the cheek! :) The ceremony is by a fountain and pond. Very pretty. I am wearing a beach wedding dress and he is wearing khaki short and a white button up shirt. The wedding party is in matching fabric dresses for the ladies and shirts for the men. We are all going to wear flip flops. We also decided on no bouquets or anything, instead the ladies are going to hold a glass of champagne and the guys a beer.

After the ceremony, we will start the BBQ buffet immediately since we are taking photos before the event. There will be LOTS of awesome home made food prepared by our awesome families! During this time, there will be Hawaiian/beach themed music playing in the background. About 45min later we will do the speeches and then we will cut the cake. Once that is over, the live band will play for about 15min or so as they cake is passed out before an Authentic Luau is performed! They will be doing dances from Hawaii to Tahiti, including a fire dancer! So it will be very exciting! They also pull some of the guests up for audience participation in the end. That is about a 45min show all together.

We will also have a Tiki Bar. Basically, we are taking care of most the expenses for the bar, all but each. So we are still forking out -3 each drink that people buy… There will be things like Jungle Juice, Beer, Mai-Tais, Hurricanes & Coke w/ Rum. Which the Tiki Bar will be open before the ceremony.

After the Luau, we will do the garter and bouquet. This will be around 8pm. I figure most will leave at this time. The band will play during this “transition” time for about an hour as people say bye and all and then we are having an “after party”. Just a few hours with no schedule, program or anything. Just so we can actually enjoy the evening, it not go by so fast and really get to visit with some guests. We have quite a few flying in or driving a long ways, and a wedding is not the greatest place for catch up and hang out. I don’t care if only 15 people are there for the “after party” We will have a DJ, the bar and all as well during this time.

Anyway, so I think that’s it. So what I am looking for is some ideas to make sure this is a blast for everyone! I want people to want to stay!

I am getting a piñata for the kids as well as something for them to do, not too sure yet. And someone also mentioned having a volley ball net set up or something…?

We already got all the tiki torches to put everywhere, as well as party lights to hang and there is already a built in fire pit that they have there too! So I was thinking maybe get some stuff to make Smores!

I basically just want a really fun, comfortable and memorable evening! I don’t care about tradition, being fancy or impressing anyone. This is a time to live it up for us before my fiancé gets deployed in a few months.

Thank you all in advance for any ideas!!!

P.S. Please don’t respond with lectures of spending money and all that matters is marrying the one I love and all that. Just so you know, not a lot is being spent. We have a very large family and everyone is pitching in a little to help with the food & drink. I have a very close friend who owns a party rental store, so those are nearly free except for the people to set things up. The band and dancers, I am part of the group and we are all like family… they wouldn’t let me pay a dime if I tried! Again, lots of people are traveling to get there, I want it to be worth it and fun! So please, spare the rudeness and just leave my question alone if that’s all you have to say. That is not what I am asking for. I am asking for ideas to make it more fun, unique or more pleasant!
Awww you all are so sweet. Yeah, sorry it was kinda long, lol. And great advice for the time taken to get through a line. It will be a double sided line of food. And 45min may be enough before speeches start. If not, no biggie. We will also have siblings (there are 14 total) pass out the cake during the Luau. If people arent ready for it, they can just wait. But still, I may add 15 min to each area of time. Thanks again!!!

    • ANSWER:
Have the table cloth on the children’s table be white paper where the kids can color on it. If the kids are having a good time the parents won’t want to leave. Get them bubbles to blow while you are doing your dances, and sparklers for everyone.

You might be surprised, people might stay longer than you think! Most importantly have FUN!

  37. QUESTION:
LDS members, What is with the cap Sleeves on Wedding Gowns?
I have spent all day looking at modest wedding gowns ( yes i am
    lds )

And almost every single one has the same exact neckline with
cap sleeves. Cap sleeves are those perfectly square t-shirt sleeves.
I realize the need to cover up to a certain point but at least
try a new style! Like puffed sleeves or tulip sleeves, maybe
a slightly different bodice. I mean every single one looks like
a satin T-shirt attatched to a wedding gown skirt.

    What the heck?

    Why?

    • ANSWER:
I’m not LDS, but the main reason this has become a popular style with brides, not just members of your faith, is that it is cool, comfortable, in May/June/July heat. It is a flattering style on most women without being overdone or showing too much skin.
      I suggest you try

      http://www.bridesave.com

for a wide selection of styles. They have the best gown search on the web. You can select to look at gowns by designer, neckline, sleeve, bodice, skirt, price, and many more.

      Congrats and Good Luck!

  38. QUESTION:
Is it inappropriate to turn up to a wedding wearing just a shirt, tie, and trousers (no suit)?
It’s too hot to wear a suit, but don’t want to look like silly lol

    • ANSWER:
It’s inappropriate to turn up at a wedding overdressed, or under-dressed, but i’ve seen people get married in regular clothing. My advice: dress in a suit, and if it gets hot take off the coat or overcoat.

  39. QUESTION:
What is appropriate attire for a formal outdoor, evening, summer wedding?
My husband and I were invited to a wedding. It’s at a fancy hotel and the invitation stipulates that a formal reception is to follow the ceremony. So formal in fact that children aren’t allowed and they’re serving filet or salmon. Fancy Schmancy. Anyway I told my husband that if he goes he has to wear a suit, preferrably a black one. He’s trying to get away with a pair of khakis and a button-down shirt. I say the wedding is FORMAL so he needs to wear a suit. What do you think?

    • ANSWER:
      Suit

  41. QUESTION:
    Can i wear a tuxedo t-shirt to a wedding?
Don’t you think it’s formal yet something you can relax in? Or would my FBI shirt be better (fine body inspector)?

    • ANSWER:
I think that’s an awesome idea. Match it with some nice dress pants and a bed head hair look and you’ll be all set.

  42. QUESTION:
wedding ideas colours that go with burgundy?
My husband to be really wants to wear a burgundy shirt for our wedding (so much that he has already got it!) I need some ideas for other colours or how to combine burgundy into the wedding colours so he doesn’t look out of place!!The bridesmaids & I don’t want burgundy dresses any other ideas would be a big help!!!!

    • ANSWER:

  43. QUESTION:
What color shirt under suit should a guy wear to a wedding?
    Hey folks,

Going to a Saturday evening wedding for a young couple (late 20′s…which we are too). My girlfriend says guys don’t wear white shirts under their suits at weddings anymore (unless they’re in the wedding party).

    a) Is this true?
    b) Whether true or not, what color shirt other than white should I wear? It’s a very dark (near black) suit.

    • ANSWER:
Although there is no set color of shirt that guys attending a wedding wear under their shirts, if you / your girlfriend doesn’t want you to wear white (in case the wedding party is), I suggest a yellow, perhaps lilac, pink, or some sort of pinstripe shirt – which would help to de-emphasize all the white.

Now you may question wearing a color like yellow, lilac, pink etc . . . but these colors are often considered very “macho” colors for guys to wear these days – meaning that when you see a guy in one of these colors – he feels comfortable with his masculinity.

Bottom line is – YOU have to feel comfortable wearing whatever color shirt you wear – and if you want to wear a white shirt – maybe pick a pinstriped white, otherwise – - my niece just got married – and although the guys in the wedding party wore white shirts, so did A LOT of other men!

  44. QUESTION:
what should I wear to my cousins wedding?
Im a 16 year old lad, and I was wondering what I should wear to my cousins wedding.
I mostly wear baggy jeans and t shirts, but I want to wear something nicer to the wedding.
I’m going to be the only lad under 18 at it and I dont want to look stupid.

If someone could help me out I’d be realy thankful.

    • ANSWER:
Khaki pants or black dress pants, a nice dress shirt and a tie. Jacket maybe.

Don’t wear with running shoes – converse and skater shoes can be ok with this kind of outfit though, if they are in good shape. Or better yet, Clarks, Dockers, Doc Martens, or that kind of casual “walking shoe” for men… the store Soft Moc has shoes like that I think.

Not too dressy, but more appropriate than jeans, I would say.

Go to a store like Tip-Top Tailors, they have cool dressy-ish shirts for guys.

      Hope this helps :)

  45. QUESTION:
Where can I find formal 50′s style or rockabilly clothing for men. I want something nice for a wedding.?
My husband needs something nice for a wedding. Not just a bowling shirt. I can’t find any more formal type 50′s style clothing anywhere. Websites wanted.
I have already searched local thrift shops for stuff. Is there maybe a website that sells these pin stripe suits, that are not Halloween costumes?

    • ANSWER:
Find the boy a slim cut navy or black pinstripe suit (goodwill and places like that are good) a shirt color he likes and a cool tie. Then add some black and white wingtips off of ebay. Then it is all hair and attitude. You can do the same with a tux. Mens formal fashion has not changed all that much since the 50′s.

  46. QUESTION:
Help me personalize a 10 year wedding anniversary t-shirt…?
My husband and I are celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary this Saturday. I want to make a custom made t-shirt for us. Something printed on the front and back. Possible with our last name and the date we got married. I want something that people will love that will make them laugh or even say how cute, great idea. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks in advance!

    • ANSWER:
      “Not-so Newlyweds”
      So and so and date

  47. QUESTION:
What do you think of a topless wedding and me just a t shirt?
Me and my future wife, I will invite only married men and the best man
my boyfriend. Do you gentlemen think it is a good idea.

    • ANSWER:
Sorry, as a woman, I wouldn’t think you would even want married men looking at your wife-to-be. I mean, seriously, do you know how many married men cheat? You somehow seem to think they are “safe”.
      Also, tacky.

  48. QUESTION:
Shirts for men and boys in the wedding party?
I am planning a somewhat casual wedding. Since it’s my second marriage I don’t want tuxes. I am planning on wearing a simple, elegant, pink dress, but not a wedding gown. Since it will be a fall wedding I’m thinking of having my fiance, his sons, and my sons wear khaki pants and dress polo shirts (not sure of the color yet). Can you recommend any websites or stores that cater to men and boys? I want them all to match. The children are ages 13, 11, 9, and 6. The two oldest boys can wear men’s sizes but the young ones are of course still in children’s sizes. Thanks!

    • ANSWER:
The good thing about polos is that the design really doesnt vary from brand to brand. You could go with a different brand for the kids and the teens. Colors will vary though, so in that case you should choose white.

If you want a color to match though, I would check the Gap & Gap Kids, J Crew, and Ralph Lauren (although RL always puts their logo on the polos so maybe not).

  49. QUESTION:
I work in a summer camp and we wear t-shirts all day. I’m wearing a strapless wedding dress in August. Help!?
    Should I use spf 100?

    • ANSWER:

  50. QUESTION:
What do you think of these colours for my wedding?
This is just a quick little mock-up I made lol

    cassiaorangepinkblue copy

    aspenorangepinkblue copy

I love the Aspen dress, but I am not sure if the black belt goes well and think it may look better all white.

What are your thoughts on the Pink, orange and blue?

What do you think would look good on the groomsmen. We are thinking of only having the bride and groom all in white and I don’t really like the idea of black suits at a beach wedding. – maybe just shirts to keep it casual and summery.
I don’t want just one colour for the bridesmaids. I like the idea of having different colours and different style dresses. Otherwise it looks too uniform and formal.

    • ANSWER:
I love the all white dress. It goes much better with the beach theme than the black does. And the brides maid dresses actually go very well together and make the whole beach theme come together very nicely.
